Newbie Question - Mid pickup on strat wiring diagrams

Hi all! Is the middle pickup in this wiring scheme a RW/RP one?
http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=1h_1s_1h_1v_1t_5w_as

I understand that this scheme turns on the slug coil (inner coil) of the humbuckers when in split mode. Is that right?
Would I need to turn on the screw coil of the humbuckers in case the middle pickup was not RW/RP?

In full humbuckers, deciding which coil is turned on in split mode makes a huge tonal difference in sound. Would I notice such tonal differences with single-sized humbuckers (JB Jr., Little 59, etc) - as the coils are really close to each other?

I had the same question awhile ago for what to do if I decided to use the other coil of the humbucker instead. That diagram you have splits the inner coils. The pickups I were using have one coil that is way hotter than the other and I didn't know if it was the inner or outer because you're right some humbuckers sound totally different depending on which coil you use because of output. This guy gave me a good idea if this was an issue I ran into. I ended up not using a middle single coil and just built an HH guitar but this is still info I'll hold onto just in case. This is using the SD color coding.

If you have a 4 conductor neck pickup, switch the coil positions. E.g. white to ground, black to green, red out. I believe that keeps the phase and humbucking, and gives you the other coil when you use standard 5 way switch splitting with the middle two leads being switched to ground.

I was never able to give this a shot but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Thanks dude! So the diagram really splits the inner coils.
Now I'd like to confirm whether the middle pickup shown in the Seymour Duncan diagram is really a RW/RP single coil. And the question about single-coil sized buckers also remains...
