Newer Burny Guitars

Hey,

I'm just wondering where the new models of Burny guitars (by Fernandes) are made? Japan, Korea, China?

Also has anyone had any experience with the RLC-45 or the RLG-45 models? They seem to be made to the specs of a real les paul i.e maple and mahogany body and mahogany neck. Pickups and electronics are not of paramount importance since i would probably change those eventually.

I'm thinking of selling my Agile 2500 to get one since i think my agile may have a warped neck (but that's a different thread all together! ).
Would this be a step up from the Agile?

EDIT: Here's a link to a couple Japanese sites that sell the burny:

Re: Newer Burny Guitars

I don't own Burnys, but I do own two grecos, which up until the 80's I believe were made in the same factory.

For the money you're going to spend on a new one why not go used? Yoou're more likely to get somehting much nicer for less and really much closer to the heyday of the manufacturer. While I believe they're still making fine instruments you at least know that there's plenty of really good ones out there, almost legendary.

The two Grecos I own are amazing instruments. I've picked up a few Gibsons that were supposed to be "really nice" in the year I've had the Grecos and I've been dissapointed every time with the Gibsons.

They'll spoil you....

Unfortunately i live in Australia and most ebayers are unwilling to ship overseas.

I have since found out that the new Burnys are made in China. If anyone has tried any of the newer models a review would be much appreciated!

You're not looking hard enough.

Most eBay auctions for Burny and Grecos are from the country of origin; Japan. And most folks selling them do so to U.S. buyers and other countries abroad.

I've bought two Grecos and scouted out countless others for purchase. Never have I seen that they won't ship abroad. Abroad is pretty much the only market they have for them!
