The next project should be a pickup that combines the entire SD range into one pickup with an associated switch. Mechanically a full range of magnets will be attached and can be selected by a lever like a gearstick in a car. The bobbins will be illuminated by internal LEDs so they can be selected to be any colour the player desires. The complete unit will work equally well in any position on any guitar.

It will be basically an analogue version of a modelling pickup.

Then the SD range can be reduced to just this one product. Everyone will love it, it'll be the best pickup ever for every player of all genres and styles, and we'll no longer have to witness these ludicrous 'design by comittee' debacles that seem to get worse and more convoluted with every attempt.

Ya see, my design has everything covered, there is nothing anyone could want that is not covered in this flawless design.

Djenting is a function of the player. However, if there are any pickups in the Duncan range that suit/ enhance that style, it will be available from my concept, which, as I've already pointed out in the opening post ... "combines the entire SD range into one pickup with an associated switch."

If you can operate a switch, you will find the suitable setting for any style/ genre your heart desires. Of course that can be fine-tuned even further with the integrated magnet selector.

The bobbins are clear, to allow the internal light to shine out. But there could easily be a colour range available for those who prefer to keep the pickup completely passive. I mean, there'll only be one pickup in the range, so it would be easy to make it available with any colour bobbins ... perhaps a basic, off-the-shelf range of the colours of the rainbow, with any other colour also availabe as a special order with a very small upcharge.

Here's the first, all-in-one :firedevil"BROPOCALYPSE":firedevil pickup prototype just in from the Custom Shop!

Fitting all the wire gauges and magnet types into a single humbucker form factor was no small feat

Naturally, the crew at SD believes the forum bros are worth it and dedicated nearly all their resources to this project for an entire month!

And here's a sneak peek at the v1.0 prototype quick-connect harness that will be used to access all 500+ tones via its 32 switches:

We just sent out this Les Paul body to be routed for the extra room needed to fit all the switches:

We only have AlNiCo II Phat Cat's which generally doesn't speak to many people.

Maybe we should look into that category? Of course with some tweaks and tricks, because we can't live it.

So maybe... Big poles? diffrent mags? Maybe option of tapping the wind for two output options. Vintage and Vintage-Hot? Or maybe something like the DD90's from Hmaer Talladega?

That's just my two cents.

PS And if it's all about the two OP's options I would gravtiate to the second one.

Oh and just a tip, if you're trying to make a sale it'd probably be better to open a thread in the trading post rather than post to an ancient thread that's very loosely related to what your trying to sell.

You know, MJ called me a couple weeks ago and said she was going to send me a pick up that the Forum guys were talking about so I brought the finished product to the Forum so you could see it.

That's all there is to it.

Ok . . . I didn't read all six pages. But along the lines of the OP's original post, and inspired by a recent photo "typo" in the Trading Post, how about Vintage Rails style poles, combined with Hot Rails coils? Split, or in parallel, this thang could be . . . vintage hot. Maybe a shop floor custom, since both are already produced. I sent the custom shop an email with an inquiry about this, but haven't received anything back yet.

I thought the DD-90 was designed some time around 2013?
