Next forum pickup design (2014)

Re: Next forum pickup design (2014)

No sense in ragging on the guy. How often do we get to see cool Custom Shop pickups touted here? Not as much as we used to. Plus, JMI is a solid dealer!

If MJ whips up something cool, I think we SHOULD be made aware of it! We're her biggest fans!

P.S. - Who wants to grab the reigns for designing Forum Pickup 2018? :lmao:
Artie had a good start!

As for JMI, I can attest to him being a good dealer, I bought an IM1/78 set from him a while before I joined the forum.

As for Forum Pickup 2K18, I've always thought that selling a single coil sized humbucker on the same baseplate as a single coil would be a good idea. That way you could toggle between true HB and true single coil. Or maybe a double Quarter Pound as a humbucker?

Edit: a tappable Quarter Pounder humbucker would be nice. Give it 5 conductors and everything.

I love the 59 Custom Hybrid pickup. However there is no real match for a neck pickup in the Duncan line with those same unbalanced coils ability to tap that well + all those over the top harmonics. Know that idea has been thrown around before but IMO has merit and fills a hole in the Duncan line.
Also would like to see a meaner bigger rounder full set of Hybrids. Like maybe a Custom /JB hybrid bridge concept as a starting point with a rough cast A5 and a matching neck pickup in tone and output.
