New to me is a 1995 Music Man Silhouette Special. It is early enough that it doesn't say 'special' on the headstock (my 2006 one does), and this is in pearl purple, which looks black under most artificial light. It has Music Man's Silent Circuit, which is an active dummy coil system that works when the neck pickup is selected- all of the other positions are hum-cancelling using a combination of 2 coils. The tuners were replaced before I owned it with Schaller locking tuners, and the bridge was all rusty when I got it, so I replaced it with a Vega Trem.

The pickups are (gasp) DiMarzios. The neck and middle are apparently some OEM version of Blue Velvets and the bridge is a PAF Pro. They all sound pretty good. I may at some point wire up another pickguard with SDs so I don't have to use a battery, but right now, I like the way it sounds. The sound is really quacky and stratty, which isn't a sound I previously used in this band.

Really nice! I can think of 4-5 Duncan combos that would make it sound stellar and work for a whole lot of music. But DiMarzios aren't all bad - I have a VV 54 Pro and Injector in my Jackson mated up with a Custom Custom in the bridge and it does almost any kind of music you can name.

looks great! my old sportster was black with blue pearl, looks black unless the light catches is right. seems like your purple might be the same.

i dont love the paf pro, but youre not much of a bridge pup guy anyway. i like blue velvets, so i bet those singles sound good.

Smashing colour!

Sure it's a PAF Pro? Never seen one with slugs/slot screws. But if it's oem, maybe they did it per EBMM request? I have a regular PAF Pro too in a HSS guitar and it works well in the scenario.
