NGD! AL-3000M

Surfing ebay for a while led to this!

She honestly sounds good with the original pickups. Much less tinny and bright than the AL-3100 I had, also not as bright as the Epiphone Les Paul 1960 tribute I had. It's also very compressed and not as bassy compared to the Les Paul studio faded I flipped. Exactly what I was looking for, to get away from the "chambered" sound.
The construction is decent, perhaps the binding isn't perfect. The frets feel great and the flat radius is a joy to play the upper frets on.

A one piece neck, ebony fretboard, and a full maple top for $350? Yes pLease
I've named her Jasmine.

Re: NGD! AL-3000M

Price was a big factor in this purchase. I had to get something that sounded "middle of the road" for a les paul and all the epiphones in the guitar center felt overpriced... so I took a gamble knowing that at that price all I would lose is shipping costs.

Re: NGD! AL-3000M

I hate that it's late now and I can't play my new guitar... man I need a pocket pod or something! Thanks for the NGD love, guys!

Re: NGD! AL-3000M

Very nice! It's awesome you found a guitar that looks that good for that price AND it has the sound you want.

I'm sure I've just been lucky so far, but I've purchased 2 guitars from ebay and they've both turned out to be really nice sound-wise.

Congrats!

Nice guitar man and congrats. :friday:

The only thing I would change is the pickguard. The pearloid doesn't look right to me. :P

Re: NGD! AL-3000M

I have since taken the pickguard off, as I like to see as much maple as I can.
I then put an A8 burstburcker 2 in the bridge position to see how it would do. The closest thing I could compare it to is a pearly gates bridge with tighter bass. Also wired the tone control to the output lug.

low and behold my middle position is out of phase but I figure I'll play with it for a while like that.

Re: NGD! AL-3000M

I've had an Agile 7 stringer once. I was amazed by the quality considering the prices. I've had the Septor Elite 727. Sadly the scale length was too long for me, so she had to go.. Congrats on the NGD dude, Agiles are awesome!
