NGD - (Almost) Completed FRANKENPAUL

Soooo I had this crappy kit laying around and I thought, why not, I have enough spare parts, lets throw it together. I recarved the heel and the weird shape is a result of my various experimenting. Well here is the body, half finished. Sorry for the bad pictures!

I actually dig the shape!

Not sure about the white finish (?) on the top though.

Re: NGD - (Almost) Completed FRANKENPAUL

Dont worry! Like I said its (half) finished so it will get cleaned up. I personally dig the white, i realize it looks weird, but so does the whole thing!

Re: NGD - (Almost) Completed FRANKENPAUL

Wow, is that proper wood i see? On a kit guitar??

....or a veneer on all sides?

Re: NGD - (Almost) Completed FRANKENPAUL

It had some really pretty flame maple actually! There are some great kits out there with some really gorgeous wood under $200

Re: NGD - (Almost) Completed FRANKENPAUL

Where did you get that for $200?!

Too bad you chopped it up. It could have been a nice looking build.

Re: NGD - (Almost) Completed FRANKENPAUL

I actually got it for $150 off ebay! And yeah i was experimenting a little too much hehe :D Oh well, it will make a cool metal-style guitar with the Dimebucker pup I have for it

Re: NGD - (Almost) Completed FRANKENPAUL

That certainly is something, can't wait to see the finished product.

I guess for $150 it can't hurt to do a little experimenting........................I said a LITTLE.

Re: NGD - (Almost) Completed FRANKENPAUL

Put the first coat of tung oil on the unpainted parts, will post more pics when i get home. I've received my Hipshot Baby Grand which I have never tried before. It looks pretty sweet! No shaking parts, looks really good quality. I can't wait to get it installed. Also on the way is my Dimebucker which I am also trying for the first time.
