NGD - barely used LP edition

2012 LP Studio in Inverness Green. Bone stock and barely a mark on it. I saw this listed on ebay and wouldn't you know the seller is my local shop. I headed over and got it for what they would have netted on eBay, about half the price of a new one, including the Gibson albino muppet fur case. Win for us both

Re: NGD - barely used LP edition

Sweet!!! I recently got a new used L.P. as well!!! Just like yours it's completely bone stock with hardly a mark on it but mine is a 02!!! I'm really up in the air about the pickups though? It's got a covered 490T/498R set in it & they look beautiful but they are not exactly my favorite set of puppies???

Ideally I'd like to get a SH-14/59N set in it. The guitar itself is quite "lower mid focused" so I think the inherent scoop from the Duncan's would work really well in this one? They would certainly be a lot closer to what I'm used to, 59's and their cousins are by far my favorite Duncan bridge humbuckers! I've been using them in almost every humbucker bridge equipped guitar I've owned for quite some time now. That said, it really does seem like a shame to start taking it apart & modding it after all this time???

Anyhow, you definitely got yourself a PRETTY GIBBY there, CONGRATS!!!!

Thanks. I dont love or hate the 498/490s, but my plan is to live with them while I watch for a good deal on a Whole Lotta HB set.

I lucked into a Dean Z locally that was on eBay,would much rather pay sales tax instead of $50 shipping...

Mmmmmm. Minty……

You know what would be killer in there, at least from a visual perspective? Double creams…or even P-Rails.

Isnt posession of Duncan double creams a class 2 misdemeanor ? :cop:

I do really like the look of the nickel covers probably too much to switch to anything else, but could also see double creams or zebras. P rails, not for me.

I'm kinda in the same boat, I don't really like them but the covers on the stock puppies just look so F-ing good!!! If I decide that I just can't live with the 490T/498R set I'll probably end up with some covered Duncan's or possibly Zebra's? As far as tone goes the Zebra humbuckers are much more appealing, (I prefer uncovered pickups) but the same set covered & waxed properly would still sound amazing and aesthetically speaking the guitar wouldn't change a bit...

I love it! I'm not even a big Les Paul fan and I'd rock that any day of the week. Awesome finish!
