Locking pads?!?!?!?!?

(reading your post again now that I'm awake…)

Is the Khaler lock a simple drop in?

It's really a Beoni Liko isn't it?

Yeah it's like an upside down version of the Floyd nut, works the same as a Kahler lock nut. But the Kahler isn't a direct drop in, you'll have to drill new holes.

Re: NGD: Bernie Rico content…

Meh…Drill, baby drill! It'll look fine.

I got a term arm for free at GC today. Little electrical tape and it's just fine. For looks anyway. You know….I might just keep this thing clean….it looks pretty sharp cleaned up.

steel wooing the frets really helped the playability! And a little neck shim….

Re: NGD: Bernie Rico content…

I've had a few low-end import guitars with "fake kahlers" on them... I have a few sets of the lock-nut screws and stuff. PM me w/your address and I'll send you a set of lock nuts and pads to try out. THey may or may not fit, but I don't need them for anything anymore so if you want 'em, lemme know.
Oh yeah the last guitar I had with the crummy trem, I took it out and got a "real" Kahler, they sell brass plates that cover whatever rout your guitar has, and the Kahler attatches to the plate. In case you don't want to mess with plugging the old one, and re-drilling the new one.

Re: NGD: Bernie Rico content…

Very cool tips Dan!

A Khaler would really kick this thing up 10 notches….

Re: NGD: Bernie Rico content…

I would oil the rollers and all of the parts on the Kahler stat. Once they freeze they are done.

Look at That!!! Cool lil addition. Very Hollywood Blvd. too. :headbang:

I see you have new gloss too. :wall:

Re: NGD: Bernie Rico content…

I had a number of those BC Rich Platinum guitars in the early 2000s. (Had a few Warlocks, a Virgin, and an Ironbird.) The trem is *very* comfortable. One of them I picked up cheap that had a Pearly Gates set in it that absolutely KILLED for black metal.

Re: NGD: Bernie Rico content…

Re: NGD: Bernie Rico content…

Do you still have the bridge for that Platinum? I have one without a bridge and I would like to find an original bridge.

Nothing says rock n roll like wood screws- except sheet metal screws into wood.

I know it looks ghetto, those were just whatever screws I could find to mock it up with... the "real" screws are in it now.
Oh yeah, locking nut pads:

Do you still have the original 2 post tremolo? I am missing one for my guitar.

Re: NGD: Bernie Rico content…

Re: NGD: Bernie Rico content…

Actually it wasn't a post-style trem at all. It was one like this:

It broke, and went into the metal recycling bin!

Re: NGD: Bernie Rico content…

Re: NGD: Bernie Rico content…

Well, as soon as I get the picks (and or vids) from Girls Girls Girls….you guys can decide!

I may just get a Khaler nut and self install. FF totally on board about the string angle effing up the tuning.

Re: NGD: Bernie Rico content…

^^^^^^^^^^

Behringer Kahler?

a Korean "Accutune" knock-off of a Kahler. THey're STUPID heavy (weighs a pound all by itself), the frame around it cracks, and the "spring plate" underneath also breaks, rendering your guitar unplayable. Oh, they don't hold tune real well, either, even with the locking nut and the "fine tuners" on the bridge itself.
Not a fan.
