if you remember this ( https://forum.seymourduncan.com/showthread.php?257841-NGD-Buddy-Blaze-K2-Model-1 ) thread from a few weeks ago, then you remember this guitar:

it was the one I played that I really liked, but wanted a reverse head. after doing a bit of looking around and just flat out GASsing non-stop, I called Buddy today and he did me a solid and conjured up one with a reverse head.

total cream puff. this new line of imports he's offering have necks that are faster than duck snot and have action lower than a snake's belly. I'm not even a guy that likes low action but the way he sets them up make them totally playable for a cat like me. really comfy to play and definitely have that 'rock' sound. tons of resonance and sustain, with squeals and harmonics that jump right off the board like popcorn out of a skillet. the pots have this nice smooth turn to them.

he's got a white 2-hum version on the bay right now for a smoking deal that I would've nabbed if I didn't get a blue one last year.

Those dots are reserved for the Shredder model. He also has a 7-string with a version of the dots. I saw a neck he just did with star inlays for a Shredder that was covered with an American flag that was flown over Kabul. Very cool looking.

These new line of imports he's got out there are really worth a look. I've been playing them about 95% of the time the past few weeks.

From what I've seen from the dealers that are carrying them, they are from $525 to about $585 (I think), depending on the model. One of the dealers has them on eBay, but the shipping might not be up your alley. And there's a place in Irving, TX called Murphy's Music that has three of them as of yesterday. Of course, if you have negotiating skills you might be able to get them for a little less.

Re: NGD: Buddy Blaze K2 Model 2

Are the imports Korean?

not for sure. with all sincerity, I'd suggest giving him a call or sending an email.

Yeah, what pups??

some stock OEMs. don't know how the hums sound, I put some JBs in there before I even plugged them in. the single coil on the guitar in this thread is a little hotter-sounding. does well for a dirty tone. I was already planning on putting something like a STK-S4n or a Little '59n in there.

the last line of imports he had coming from a different factory/country had DMT pickups and the Korean Floyd 1000 series... but it was a much more expensive guitar. I grabbed one of those last year, but I have to say that I'm finding these imports much more playable for my style and definitely worth checking out. I've been happy with them and I know Buddy has a reputation for standing behind his product.

and then there is this ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/Buddy-Blaze...1?pt=Guitar&hash=item4ac310a6af#ht_715wt_1121 ) black 2 hum model directly from Buddy with a lower starting bid, the same BIN and a better deal on s&h.

Fuuuuuu-

Not even gonna lie... I'm gonna try to make that white one happen in the next few weeks.

Gawd I really don't need another shredder but MMMMMMMMM.

Re: NGD: Buddy Blaze K2 Model 2

almost all my guits are Hum hum.. I need another like I need a hole in my melon, but if I get anything, its gotta have a single in the neck or neck /middle..

I put a p/p pot in my single hum wired to parallel and its groovy. Think of the old Kramer Baretta or BC Rich Gunslinger. Hard to go wrong either way.

I will be adding the phrase "faster than duck snot" to my daily vocabulary.

The real TX nomenclature would be 'slicker than duck $***', but I think you get the idea.

I have one of the two 7-string prototypes he showed at NAMM last year. Mine is the blue one: beautiful flamey maple neck, ebony fretboard, poplar body. The dots on the 7-strings are actually heptagons rather than plain dots - nice detail. It originally had Crunch Lab and LiquiFire pickups but I swapped them out for a Full Shred and a '59 with a push-pull for coil split. It's an amazing guitar - very lively, extremely playable and it looks great. Buddy and Joyce are the best.

Re: NGD: Buddy Blaze K2 Model 2

that blue finish is cool. I picked up a K2-2H last year from his previous line of imports that has that finish. tasty-looking blue. real inlays, not acrylic. unfinished maple neck. attention to detail on an import that you'd expect if he made it himself. and you're right... every guitar of his that I've picked up just rings out with a nice presence and the entire guitar resonates. he's got an amazing eye/ear for woods.

while at his shop to pick up that white one, he showed me a Shredder he is making for someone. for starteres, the inlays are stars that go in that Shredder config. and the sizing does change on them as the go down the neck. wow! the part that is actually more interesting is that what you see on the front of the guitar is taken from a US flag that was flown over Kabul. not a finish, but the actual flag is adhered to the guitar and then a clear coat finish over it. but done in a way where it is so smooth and evened-out that you really think it's a finish like the TX flag on his TX Shredder. it's even on the headstock.
