Unexpected NGD.....out of the blue!

My band and I are back together and jamming for an upcoming gig in November, though the reunion has been plagued w/ sht luck so far ...for me personally, my rhythm playing sucks, mostly cuz of the pain I have in my left hand/thumb that makes chording difficult as fuck. Then our drummer broke his hand a couple of days ago, fucking around on a motocross bike & will miss the gig ..but hopefully we have a repalcement dude in the wings. My buddy Vik/band's vocalist is trying to set that up, but he's out of the country atm and not due back for at least a month so there's that as well...

Anyway. At the last Jam there was a band using the practice space we rent before us and the kid who plays guitar for them had a wine red Schecetr Quilt-top that I complimented him on out of courtesy cuz he'd just complimented me on my Sabre that i was playing. Next thing he was offering me his other identical Schecter that he had at home which had a different finish (tobacco burst) for a pretty sweet price. Showed me pics of it he had on his phone ...looked a decent guitar/absolutely mint & he assured me it plays well, sounds great so one thing led to another & I said I'd take it ...so he said he would pack it up and send it over :p

A Schecter Omen Extreme FR..I think it's called.

That's just rock and roll man! My drummer has a bad back and works installing glass for a living, my other guitarist is a mechanic by trade, one of the 3 of us is always broken or smashed up in any given timeframe.
Add in 2 teenage girls and it's hard to ever get serious about rehearsal time...

I wish you well for your next gig!

I've only ever heard positive things about schecters, but never owned one......yet.
I've seen a lot of those on stage, looking and sounding great.

Haha...y' know what they say ...When the going gets tough.... :laugh2:

I think Vik has hooked us up with a new drummer already. He's supposed to show up at this Sunday's jam.. finger's crossed lol.

Yeah, I thought it was a pretty cool axe. Nothing exceptional specs-wise but it seemed nice & solid & the tone was pretty sweet. I already have one Schecter (my Sun Valley Shredder w/ a Sustainiac) & I love it. So this will be my second.

I met the dude yesterday at practice & he had brought the tobacco burst Schecter along with him. Played well enough (action a hair too high for my tastes, but otherwise pretty sweet), sounded great , looked awesome/minty..

Brought it home, plugged it into my new Line 6 DT50 & gave it a spin :bigthumb:

The stock Schecter-branded pup's are'nt half bad. I'll probably keep them in for now, if only cuz I'm too lazy to swap them out...

I'll post a couple of pics when I'm able..

This is mostly w/ my Archon 50 II. I swapped out the stock PI tube yesterday for a Sovtek LPS. Did'nt make too much of a difference tbh (ie the amp sounded pretty much the same before & after the swap....maybe a hair thicker, not sure about that though :p).

Then I overdubbed a twin/unison lead in the middle with my Line 6 DT50 (the shreddier solo's w/ the Line 6). Sounds pretty sweet :bigthumb:
