That red quilted maple top looks fabulous with the gold hardware. Congrats on your guitar.

Re: NGD: Chapman ML-1 Norseman

They are, but they're very versatile. Sorry for the crappy phone vid and mediocre playing, but here's my BW set through my Splawn. They can do just about anything, but I will say that they can be kinda sterile at times. I still like the Custom/Jazz combo a little better, though.

Cant check this from work, but very excited to check it out! Avoided the BW's for awhile cuz I too thought they were for Brootz, but Ive read sooo much positive feedback that they cover alot of ground, so seriously considering a set.. Will be cool to hear em thru the Splawn

Re: NGD: Chapman ML-1 Norseman

LOL, completely off topic but... The Trooper was the first Madin song I ever learned on guitar...

I wasn't super crazy about them since they were a bit before my time but my old drummer was a HUGE FAN & convinced me to learn some of their stuff to spice up practice for him. Once I did it forced me to realized how much fun Iron Madin songs were to play on guitar & I started trying to learn as much as I could.

Those songs definitely made me a much better guitar player & appreciate what a great band they were by the time I was done!!!

I thought it would look better without the pickup covers. Also highed it might brighten the neck a bit. Look what I found under the cover of my Chapman "Passive Aggressive" humbucker - an official "EMG Designed" cube of wax!

i think his guitars were meant to have the pickups switched out, from what i remember.

Lol, I hear ya. I hated Maiden when I was a teenager, but after I grew up a little I became a huge fan. And yeah, those guys are excellent musicians.

Not surprising, since they are made in the same factory, along with Schecter. The pickups are probably Chapman's design, but since they were covered, I imagine the factory use the formers, baseplates, ect that they had on hand.

That’s how I feel/felt about Anthrax too. I just couldn’t get into them back in the day but now I can’t believe I let them get by without a fair shake....now that I think about it, same thing with Megadeth.

You are probably right. Only one of the pickups has the ESpP logo on it, so maybe they used whatever bobbins were avaiable since they were going to put covers on them.

Ah well, no matter....in a few days she'll have pickups that say "Seymour Duncan" on them :)

Re: NGD: Chapman ML-1 Norseman
