No QC issues except a few sharp frets. Which I expected to be worse, no problem there. The pickups are very clear and articulate , I'll try it later with distortion and an overdrive.
1 issue, non-issue, is that the neck feels raw. I think a light sanding and wax will fix that.

I've found that wax is a secret ingredient to an awesome feeling guitar neck if your neck is oil finished. I built a Warmoth guitar a while back and finished it in danish oil like my Charvel. Didn't feel quite right on the back of the neck when I was done though. So then I tried sanding it down with extremely fine sandpaper (going to 1000+ grit). A little better, but it didn't have that incredibly smooth feel of the Charvel. Eventually I figured that just playing it for longer would get it there. But after a couple years it didn't.

Earlier this year I was reading an article about old wood finishing techniques and using paste wax to make the wood feel silky smooth to the touch, so I figured what the hell and gave it a try. Just a little dab of paste wax, rub it into the neck, let it sit for a few minutes, then polish it off. HUGE improvement. The Warmoth feels exactly like my Charvel now - still unfinished but buttery smooth with no stickiness at all. Made me super happy.
