NGD Craigslist find I couldn't resist!

Well, this popped up on CL, and I have wanted to try a Dot/335 for a long while. A guy offers this plus case, strings, picks, capo and books for $100. How could I say no? It looks like he picked this up to learn, but never did. Well, it will get loved in my house. Now time to mod it to 4 knob, Duncans, and ply the hell out of it.

Nice score. I would of did the same since I yet to own a hollow body and it wouldn't hurt to have one. What type of pups you gonna put in? Seths?

Here's a much better picture, after I oiled the fingerboard and strung it up. As for pickups, that's totally in the air currently. I need to play it a bit and see what it's character is, so I can fit the right pickups to it. Seths would be lovely, but saving up for them might take a bit.

Those were a good value new at $400, so $100 is a giveaway price.

One thing that will improve the tone is having a bone nut installed. Also, change the Epi pots to CTS 500K, and put a Gibson 3 way switch in there. Do all that when you install new pickups. It's worthwhile.

Well, I installed the Livebuckers, and so far, it'll hold it's own with the rest of my stable EASILY. CTS pots, 0.022 uF PIO cap. Love it!
