NGD - dammit....

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
I was really trying NOT to get another guitar. But after playing a Jackson JS32 I picked up a while back for $129, and my Jenna Jameson King V, well, I'm digging the Jackson JS32. I've been watching for a Ferrari red Kelly, or a Matte Green V to come up cheap. Just missed a Kelly two weeks in a row on the bay for < 200. well, my main Sam Ash guitar pimp pulled this out of the back Friday, then had a 15% off sale, and BAM $274 and this followed me home;

It will, of course, be getting the full WWII treatment: Wing Star Insignia, Pinup, Black & White Invasion Stripes, some German shoot downs, and a yellow serial #

Re: NGD - dammit....

Course..you could also make it a Luftwaffe guitar

Re: NGD - dammit....

Not immediately. But man, $274 is a helluva price. Thing plays great.

Re: NGD - dammit....

I had one of those JS32 in Kelly format. The neck was warped from factory and I missed it on first inspection. Could not get the action right no matter what, and I don't go that low even on my shreddy guitars.

Keep an eye on that.

Re: NGD - dammit....

When I joined this forum
I had one acoustic guitar and had just got an RG hardtail
and was looking to mod the pickups

I no longer have anywhere to put them

It's like staring at pron all day
You want so much and play so little

Re: NGD - dammit....

I've asked advice on so many ideas I've had on here. I've actually only gone through with one pickup change and have bought only one guitar since I've been here. However, that doesn't stop ideas from coming and GAS from being cured.

I know, right? When I joined I'd just bought a JB and thought it was the most amazing pickup ever. I still love it, but things have changed.

Right now I've got:

Custom
Alnico 2 Pro neck
Screamin' Demon
JB
DD-103

Currently sitting in their boxes without a guitar to put them on. I haven't even tried the Custom at all!
It's pretty amazing how much stuff I've collected. I've sold a couple of things here and there, but damn.
And I'm sure my box of unused things it's nothing compared to other folks here.

Re: NGD - dammit....

You know, I always tell people that there are much worse 'habits' to have.

A friend of mine is deep into technology gadgets and stuff. Gaming consoles, cellphones and whatnot.
His 'gear' depreciates so fast it's crazy. He just bought a Galaxy S9 Plus and he's already thinking about reselling it before he takes a hit.

I'm currently on an ancient LG G3S phone I've had since 2014, and in a couple of days I'll receive a Nokia 6 for which I paid almost nothing, and I expect it to last at least 4 years since newer Nokias are built like literal bricks.

Meanwhile, all this **** I've bought for guitars just refuses to depreciate. Even my Line 6 M13 holds a steady price at the used market, even with the newer Helix units and whatnot.
And good luck taking it from me! I absolutely love this unit.

Re: NGD - dammit....

It is a nice looking guitar and a good price. Our current needs drive what we want to buy. At this point in my life, I'd rather have fewer but higher quality guitars to enjoy. If I were in a gigging band, I might feel differently. Neither way is right or wrong, which is a beautiful thing. I hope you enjoy your new axe.

Re: NGD - dammit....

I need a WWII shred stick at this point in life....

And a Ferrari Red Kelly with Ferrari stickers.
