NGD - Early 90's Yamaha Pacifica 521

Got a great deal on this. It's in great shape with basically zero fret wear and just a couple minor dings. I had to clean it up, polish the frets, oil the fret board and it needed a setup badly. Now it plays great. I will end up getting a new pickguard made for it along with a new pickup ring for the bridge since both use three screws for the bridge and neck humbuckers. I want to put in a set of Duncan pickups. Probably a 59 in the neck, then either a JB or Custom 5 in the bridge. Not sure what I want in the middle...I may eliminate the middle pick-up in the new pickguard.

Neck has settled in pretty good now and the action is so much better than when I got it. Still needs to go to a pro for a proper setup, but I got it playing good so far. Now just trying to decide what pickups I want in it.

I'm planning to put Chrome covered pickups in with an aged white pearl pickguard. Probably do away with the middle pickup. I never use them in a HSH setup anyways.

A friend of mine back in high school had that guitar with a Floyd. At the time I loved the neck and thought the bridge pickup wasn’t bad.

I'm working on getting the parts I want to fix it up. I'll be replacing the electronics (put in a 500k volume w/treble bleed, 500k tone w/.022 cap) and probably going to just a HH pickup setup with a 3-way switch. I'll also get it a proper setup and two tiny spots on a couple frets fixed also then it'll be ready for action.
