OK, my favorite guitar is my EBMM Silhouette Special with a scalloped neck and an APH1 and CC. So I had an opportunity to get another EBMM in trade from a student. This is the SUB1 series, discontinued about 2008- USA made, with imported electronics. Apparently EBMM stopped production after a few years because they lost money on every one. They cut costs by using poplar (instead of alder), having a textured finish (no clear coat) and imported electronics. But man, what a great guitar! The color is called cinnamon (apparently pretty rare), which has metal flake in it, and flip flops from brown to red to green. I put a CC and APH1 in it, with a push/pull coil split on the tone knob. The stock electronics weren't terrible, but SDs were a huge improvement. The first 3 pics are mine, the last 4 are ones I found online to demonstrate variations in color depending on the light and angle.
The guitar is a serious fusion machine, with everything I need, and nothing I don't. I like how it says 'guitar' on it, to remind me I am not looking at a toaster.
