NGD - Ed

Re: NGD - Ed

That's just a really nice guitar. Classy but not bling-y, looks well-made with attention to detail, and we know it has to be decent quality under the finish otherwise you wouldn't have bought it. Just a gorgeous example of a traditional, timeless style that could be used by any type of player in any genre.

Really, really nice. You gotta be happy with that, it's lovely.

Re: NGD - Ed

Yeah I am very happy with it. I was up till about 3AM this morning playing it. It has an incredible 3D tone and I just couldn't put it down.

It seems very well put together for sure, a 60's-ish slim profile neck, Duncan vintage P-90's, Gotoh hardware, really nice fretwork too. It's a SE Asian mahogany, a maple cap and an ebony board. It's very light, it probably just makes 8lbs. The type of mahogany they use is low density which makes for the light weight but I am super impressed with the sound. It's a 2011 which should mean it's all MIJ but even if it is split between China and Japan it doesn't suffer for it in anyway.

Re: NGD - Ed

Fwiw this is my 3rd MIJ LP Custom and it is easily the most appropriate for me. The Burny was actually larger than a regular LP and that just threw me off, same scale but odd proportions, it ended up with a buddy of mine who is a kind of big guy and it is the perfect guitar for him. He must've played 150-200 guitars before he would even try the Burny, excellent guitar high build quality just not for me. I also had an Epi Japan LPC that was really, really good that ended up with butnut, that one just had an odd neck for me as you got up around the 12th fret and I could never fully bond with it. The Edwards just feels right though I was a little worried about the slim neck, it is also the only one of the 3 that has an ebony board.

Well I knew esp stuff fairly well so when this popped up locally i had to check it out. I was suitably impressed

Re: NGD - Ed

Maybe for the neck not for the bridge. It's a consideration, has to stick around for awhile first. It sounds so damn good I probably won't mess with it other than the witch hats

Re: NGD - Ed

Rand-o, many of the Edwards come with Duncans. The Sykes I had came with a pair of distortions. Some of them come with EMGs too.

Wattage,
Glad you are digging it so much! Ive wanted to replace the sykes I had ever since I sold it. My next purchase will most likely be an Edwards V.

I have a Burny thats killer too. The neck is just a tiny bit fatter than my Gibby LP
