See guys, I told you I had my eye on another one.

59Slash.webp

This one had been upgraded apparently.
New hardware from top to bottom.
Even apparently had a plek job.

Upgrades:
GraphTech Nut - Black instead of white
Slash truss rod cover
TonePros Bridge and Tailpiece
Legend Tone wiring harness - including The are of tone 525k pots
Vintage Forge rings, knobs and pokerchip
Schaller straplocks
Slash 2.0 pickups
Kluson locking tuners

The original truss rod cover and pickguard is in the case, along with the case candy and 3 sets of Slash strings 11-48

Seems a tad lighter than my other one and a slightly nicer top.
Gotta wait til Sunday to plug her into the half stack and see how she sounds, but it feels pretty good so far.

What pickups did it ship with?

Did a store make the upgrades or a customer ?

I am curious as to how much a difference a brass nut makes

They are the slash 2.0 pickups replacing the bb2 & bb3. Pickups. I'm assuming he did the upgrades or paid someone to. Not sure about a brass nut. I've personally never had one.

Congrats on the new guitar! What bridge did they add there?

nice looking guitar! hows the neck?
I used to have one of those! The neck was a smidge thicker and a bit more D-shaped than the Gibson 50's on my Tribute. Maybe a tad wider towards the last few frets. Not night and day, and by no means full-on D-shaped, but I remember the Tribute felt just a smidge smaller and rounder. They're still like 98% the same profile, though. The difference is not nearly as big as there is between the 50's and the 60's Gibson USA neck, for reference.

My old one had a really nice, tight flame. It honestly looked prettier than my Tribute. I just felt more attached to the Tribute, so I ended up trading it for the Strat I posted I ended up not liking, LOL.

I kinda miss it, to be honest. I had a full fret level and recrown on mine, and it played great.

I bet that sounds fantastic!
I'm looking forward to finding out.
It doesn't seem to resonate or have as much sustain acoustically as the other one.

Thanks my dude!
The top on this one seems to be a tad nicer...
The neck however, seems to be a tad thicker in the hand. Not a lot, just a touch.

Thanks man! You had a nice one seems.
I've had a couple of Epi Lps over the years, and just never could bond with them. And honestly had decided I'd
never own another one... yet here we are.
I bought the first '59 a couple months back and it's really knock my socks off... Enough it made me want this one...

I really liked how the finish felt and looked on mine. How are you liking that? It did start to gloss up a tad during the time I had it, though. Particularly on the neck.

I also used to have an LPC with the new Kalamazoo headstock, and I liked that one a lot as well except for the fact that the fret edges weren't seated well, so I returned it.

The first one I bought still has the silky smooth finish front and back. I absolutely love it.
This one is still smooth on the body, but the neck is fairly glossy. Still a nice finish all around.
Pretty sure the guy used quite a bit of finger eaze on it, too.

The one LPC I had, had a sticky neck and some bad fret edges. I changed just about everything on it and still couldn't dig it.
Had a 60's tribute plus that was a decent guitar, but just never could bond with it.
Had a slash model way back. Pickups were duncans and they were ok. The guitar was a tad wonky.

When I found the first '59 I had no intention on getting another one, but it was a pretty sweet... I'm really lovin' it.
The jury is still out on this one, but it's a nice one also.
It's amazing how two guitar that are basically the same can be so different, even if it's subtle.

They seem like awesome guitars. There is a faded cherry one near me I'm trying not to buy.

Seems like they are approaching Elitist levels of quality on those. If you have never played an Elite/elitist...there were amazing at a $1k price point. If I were Gibson management - I'd have never of released them.

The BB2/3 probably sounded good too. Did it come with them as well???

Go ahead... treat yo self..
I have read about the Elitists before, but have never seen one. Always wanted to see if they lived up to the hype.
This one did not come with the BB's

Put the list of upgrades in the first post now.

As someone who owns six actual Les Pauls, Oh they do...they do indeed. Would not hesitate!
