The guitar was listed on Facebook a week ago or so, and ever since I saw it, it's been gnawing on my mind.

So earlier, I drove up to the store, deciding to try it out. I already have a lot of guitars, and I didn't need another one in this shape for sure, but I had to put my mind to rest.

Bad idea. I was hooked immediately, and haggled the price and took it home.

So to my humble abode, I bid thee welcome, my new Navigator NLP-480LTD

And yes, if you look to the top right corner, that's the same old boy as in my avatar

This is either the best or the second best Les Paul I've ever played. It's been years since I tried that Murphy R9, so my memory isn't accurate as to which was better
But holy hell, what an amazing guitar!

And what a surprise that it's a T-serial too!

I'm not so enthused with the Seth Lovers. I love them in the custom, but I think I'd like a Standard to have a bit more "rock" in them

But oh well, who cares? It's a 10/10 guitar. I'll mess around with it for a few weeks to see if I really want that pickup swap.

Probably no, but if I did, it would still be a PAF type, in a different flavor perhaps.

Very nice!
Give the Seths some time...they sound excellent in an LP with the right amp and pedals. Chewy and touch-sensitive. Have fun!

Yeah I actually had a set before and while they sounded great in the LPC (below), idk I'm more used to something like a 59 in a standard lol

But yep I'll give them time for sure!

thats a sweet guitar! esp makes some damn fine stuff. i love the seths in a lp but there are plenty of other options out there as well

Yep, like Mincer said, they're growing onto me, but I'm still thinking of something A4 and A5 for some tight rhythm tracking

That is a RIGHTEOUS Les Paul!

Might I suggest - if the Seth's don't work out, a PG set or maybe a Hades Gates set....if you want a little more rock out of it. Just throwing it out there.

Archer's Playing > whatever pickups are in it.

Thanks!

Those are interesting. Although I also know a local winder who's repaired quite a few PAFs/T-Tops/Patent-Spendings

Might ask him for a set, but I'll definitely keep the Seths on for a month or so

Always live with new/different pickups for a while. Often the ear is just offended because it is different. And really dial them in too, height, poles, and the amp. Now once that fails...time to move on.

Yep

I've been doing some tweaks.

First I adjusted the height, then the pole pieces.

Used that configuration LtKojak used to recommend as a starting point . Didn't quite like it, but it was a good starting point (no surprises. Guy probably played jazz and fusion with 11s while I'm playing assorted rock with 9s lol). In the end I'm finding that the current setup is pretty adequate and I'll probably "learn" the guitar and play it to its strengths

I forgot what he used to recommend. What was it?

Well what do you know...

They might stay tbh.

There's this harmonic richness to them that sounds so good distorted

Love the guitar in so many ways. Whenever you pull out a goldtop prepare for the Oooo Aaaahs. I get so many compliments on mine not just from guitarists but people in general.
