NGD: ESP Eclipse Hollow

This was a bit of an impulse buy. I picked this up off ebay for a deal that was too good to pass up. I was looking at normal solid body eclipses when I found this. It's a 1996 ESP Eclipse (semi) Hollow.

Semi hollow mahogany body
Bolt-on maple neck

It's noticeably lighter and thinner than my Les Paul. The neck is a bit thinner too. The stock pickups sound a lot like the Duncan Distortions I have in my Les Paul, so I might swap them at some point just to get variety but they're pretty good.

Bolt on, cool. Bet you can get some awesome controlled feedback at low volumes with that.

Re: NGD: ESP Eclipse Hollow

Congrats! Those are really cool, I've been tempted by them a few times, but they are getting hard to find.

Re: NGD: ESP Eclipse Hollow

Sweet! Totally modern/vintage thing going on there!!!!

Re: NGD: ESP Eclipse Hollow

So is this the same size as an LP or kinda a 375 size
My Dean Shire has a larger predecessor the Colt
That is the same guitar just in the larger 375 size

Just wondering about yours

It's the same size as the modern ESP eclipse with the exception of the lower horn being the pre-lawsuit size here (you'll notice the horn is shorter now). So roughly the same size as a LP but thinner and with a deep belly cut on the back.

Re: NGD: ESP Eclipse Hollow

I was watching the auction for this guitar on eBay. So YOU'RE the one who outbid me! :laugh2:

Seriously, that was a good deal, wasn't it?
