And finally it is here. I have bought the black cherry first because it looked so much better (SDUGF voted as well) than the black one (looks like purple) but these photos are deceiving. Black Cherry is very dark and it is very hard to see those hot flames that you can see in the photos. There was a minor finish issue on the headstock so I took this opportunity and returned it for a see-thru black in exchange hoping it will be darker as well. Boy, i was right, it looks amazing. It has a beautiful blueish&grayish hue under the light. Of course most important thing is how it plays and sounds. Being a string thru it resonates great and it is loud even when unplugged. Neck is comfortable and fast. It is built extremely well. It is not heavy but not flimsy either. Perfect balance when strapped. No neck dives. EMGs sound great. If I wanted a custom V I would have it built just this way. So happyyy... :friday:

The thing is I really I liked the Cherry more based on the photos. I am glad it all worked out great though.

Yeah you are right :) It looks completely different under bright light but actually I like it more as it is.

Just changed the strings and adjusted the action on this beast past weekend. It plays even better now.

This being my first guitar with active electronics I took a look under the hood and I must admit that I was surprised considering this is a MIK guitar.

EMG quick connectors were used so It will be easier to change to other EMGs or BOs
All the cavities were painted with conductive paint for shielding and there were aluminum foils on cavity covers. Even my USA or JAPAN jackson with passive electrnics didn't have these.

I wish they didn't use screws on the battery compartment cover though. They could have made it easier.

Hi, i'm new, my name's Rick and and i can't decided between this LTD and the Gibson Fliyng V.

Is this a real maple cap or it's just a low-quality veneer?

hey Rick! Welcome! Im sure it is a veneer. Most imports use veneers. But, thats better than photoflame!! So, if you like the look of the pointier axe and the flame top, you dont get that with gibson.
