NGD - F-holes? We don't need no stinkin' F-holes!

Scott, you definitely have a "type" when it comes to guitars. I can see you playing that guitar. Nice score.

You're right, "We don't need no stinkin' F-holes". Especially when played through an amp.

It's more of a traditional thing...esthetics.

Originally "f" holes increased the acoustic volume. But some claim that even when played through an amp, the "f" holes help with feedback issues. But I don't know, I never play loud enough tell.

In any case, that's a very sweet looking guitar.

If your feelin' Kind of Blue, Take the A Train to 52nd Street, get a whiskey, Straight No Chaser. Feel the connection, between Body and Soul, as you dance to Billie's Bounce. You're Nobody Until Somebody loves you so make sure you Ain't Misbehavin' 'Round Midnight.

I've had to block F holes on practically every hollow guitar I've ever owned and would greatly appreciate no f hole versions. I've never understood why this hasn't caught on. The tone is amazing but uncontrolled feedback is a show stopper. And yes there's going to be some total difference but the same is true when I stuffed the F holes with foam.

I have a Gretsch G6122 with painted-on F-holes. I really appreciate them when the volume gets turned way up. But for legit jazz box tones, nothing beats real deal F-holes.
