Long & McQuade had a blow out sale a while back and I noticed a red strat with a humbucker up on the wall. I didnt try it but thought it was cool looking. A week or so ago I noticed it was still there and picked it up...and was blown away. It was loud acoustically, had action that was too low for me but didnt buzz and looked (i am a fan of red guitars) really cool. That it was going for less than half price (about what a new American Standard is going for) and that it had never been sold and it came home with me.
Specs are:
Swamp Ash body, maple veneer top, finished in Nitro
Birdseye maple neck and fingerboard, huge c shape with a 9.5 radius & 6105 frets
Master Design Single Coils (sound a lot like Fat 50's but a bit louder) in the neck and middle and a Seymour SH-11 trembucker in the bridge
2 point trem with locking tuners.
