US-made sex appeal.

this one has a swamp ash body, fixed bridge, maple neck w/ vintage tint. i have never felt such a comfortable neck. it's G&L's #1 neck shape. stainless med-jumbo frets. the satin finish is so smooth-unlike any other. it feels like it's lightly sanded because my hand moves more freely than any other neck.

the sounds...wow. the pickups compliment each other perfectly. the P-90 sounds at home clean or with with distortion. the duncan JB screams with gain. when played cleanly the JB is mild but with some juice it just screams.

Nice!

Does that bridge feel a little weird at first?

it does take some time getting used to for sure. the bridge has kind of, a frame, about it so with most bridges when your hand hits it it's the saddles but with this you have to go a bit further for the palm mutes.

In 2 days, it'll feel like home.

The binding and stainless frets are some cool (and quite pricey) options. Did you order it that way?

yes. i paid about $100 extra for the SS frets. the matching headstock was extra too i think but i don't think i was charged for it. i only recall being charged extra for the frets. it was $1325.

Re: NGD G&L Fallout

Wow. you got a decent deal. The list price of your options alone is $780. $400 for SS (hyuk hyuk, Jolly) frets, $150 for matching head, $100 for ash, and $120 for the wood binding. That guitar with those options would normally list for $2,020 and sell for $1,515.

That's awesome looking. I dig G&L's. Some of the best guitars I've laid my hands on. Their Tributes are amazing too.

And it's even cooler, since G&Ls are worth every penny anyhow, before any discounts. Congrats, man. There is nothin' like a NG&LD! I've had two within the last two years, both of them also great deals (a Legacy Rustic for $1,400 and a one-off prototype pine Legacy for $1,000). I also got a used Tribute series guitar in that time. Also a great deal!

On a separate note, I wonder if my friend Alex had any hand in the production of your guitar. He's a final assembly builder for them. On your checklist, look for the initials AB or something like that.

i can't even fit a piece of paper in between the neck and body. this was built with some real passion. a custom shop fender would be $3500 more. i got every option down to the last detail. it's my best sounding guitar. way more sustain than the others.

i have a brobucker in another guitar with a 1 meg volume pot (wth no tone pots) that will give this JB/250k a run. both sound fantastic but the bro sounds a bit more cutting. this JB loves gain though. such a juicy pickup. the p90 is a tad on the noisy side.

i feel like i stole it. no alex. patrick, shane and ken (for setup and playability).

Does the guitar have body binding? I think that might be just an effect of the picture..I don't think it has body binding.

no, i don't think it's bound. it's smooth so it's probably just an effect. a very nice one which i didn't expect. it's probably part of their "premier finish". i chose the redburst finish.

Re: NGD G&L Fallout

"My bad." The reflection of the tan carpet looks a lot like the wood binding that G&L uses.
