NGD: Gibson Les Paul 60's Tribute GT

She's got some wear, but plays and sounds fabulous! I've played the 50's Tribute, and I'm not feeling much difference in terms of neck dimensions. Some have described the 60's model neck as thin, but mine is not thin at all. Maybe Gibson got some of them mixed up? The P90's are just the bomb-diggity! :)

Very nice!!!
Fwiw, I have a LP with. 50’s neck and also one with a 60’s slim taper. Although the 60’s is definitely a noticeably smaller neck, I wouldn’t necessarily call it thin. It’s a standard C shaped neck that slightly thins out as you move toward the 12 fret. I find it extremely comfortable.

Nice gold-top and the P-90 pick ups are a real bonus for that vintage classic rock sound.

Those are a great value and one of the better products Gibson has put out. It's at a great price point to get people into a LP without the binding that drives the cost up so much. The P90's are great and I see a few people even putting mini hums into them and making a Deluxe. Also, Gibson is all over the board with neck sizes. It's really a crap shoot.

Congrats.

Don’t know why anyone would want to do that. ;) Should be taking minis out of Deluxes and putting in P90s! :D

Re: NGD: Gibson Les Paul 60's Tribute GT

I have a 2000 GT Deluxe with mini-hums as well. I like the mini's too, but they don't have the "grind" of the P90's. I purchased a set of Tyson Tone 57 Wraptail 50's Wind P90's for the Deluxe, but decided to just leave it stock. I find that positioning the mini-hum bridge p/u close the strings helps give it some punch. The 2000 mini's sound better than the 70's mini's, mainly because they don't squeal.

Beautiful LP! Congrats. I’m waiting on the 30 Day Hold on a 1991 Classic in Gold Buillon that I just purchased at GC Hollywood.

That should be killer! I want a 91' at some point because that's the year my daughter was born. Make sure to post a NGD when you get it!

Nice! And a great reason on the year. I will post a NGD...in like...32 days!!! Ha!

Nice. I always liked the looks of those, with their faux binding and lack of fretboard binding. It's kind of like what a mid-'50's Les Paul Studio would have been, if it had existed.

Re: NGD: Gibson Les Paul 60's Tribute GT

It could use a fret dressing, especially at the treble side. I don't know if I'm going to keep it yet, but so far I'm digging it.

That's a long ass damn wait. I'm not that patient. If you don't end up loving it, hit me up. Maybe we can work something out, you know.... between Colorado Bro's.

Typical Pawn Shop 30 Day Legal Hold plus a few days for transfer to my local GC. Will do indeed.
