I got this faded standard as a late Christmas gift to myself. Sweetwater was offering $200 bonus bucks to purchase one that was already $200 cheaper than the gloss standard. I prefer satin finishes over gloss anyway. So that offset the costs of my mods. When I got the guitar home it had uncovered burstbuckers in it which I swapped out for a 498t and a burstbucker pro in the neck, both with nickel covers. I also installed new tone pots (no load) and some PIO caps I had laying around, and I put in a pure tone output jack going into a nickel jack plate.(I don't trust the plastic jack plates) up top I swapped out the stock tuners for some locking kluson's in nickel. And to finish it off I swapped the black back plates for cream ones. The cream back plates just pop. I plugged it into sheer enjoyment. The burstbucker pro in the neck is a better match for the 498t than the 490r in my opinion. I'm very satisfied with my standard now I finally have it sounding and looking like I want it to. The main reason why chose this finish is because it matches my cat!(the one in the profile pic) I call it Archie burst...lol! What do you guys think?
