There she is

Not real flame
doesn't move in the light
It's a photo print

But it is beautiful from the distance anyone watches you play from

Odd choice of neck pickup surround

nvfkELh.jpeg

Too much slanted towards the neck
makes the pickup sit crooked

Oh well we will sort it out

Maybe it's meant to be the other way around/slant towards the bridge pup , to keep the pup surface even?

Anyway...sweet new axe, love the color. Happy NGD!

My Grote is one of my absolute favourite guitar's. And probably my best maple top ever along with my green quilted "Dragon Eye Burst" Cort. A true tone monster & would you believe it ....a semi-hollow shred machine! Granted it's had quite a bit of love/lots done to it. :bigthumb:

Yours was one of the reasons I pulled the trigger on this one

So what mods did you do

It's late here and I didn't crank my amp up to see if the pickups were microphonic

And I haven't tested the resistance yet

Just ran through some chords to see how they sound and it has so good sounds in it as is

Checked the tone pots and coil splits

Kinda friggin nice.

Thicker neck than I would prefer
But not chunky by no means
Comfy like my Gibson

I will get some measurements off it tomorrow

The high e string has a bit of zing to it.
May need to adjust the bridge a bit

Or just new strings

My Grote had some of the most uhm, 'unusual' sounding stock pups i've ever heard. Super dry & honky. Made the guitar sound like a trumpet :laugh2:

Thankfully they are long gone :bigthumb:

But yeah, after the pup swap & changing the toggle switch which was kinda crappy as well..it sounds and plays incredible..

Kinda digging the honky right now

I remember an article where clapton and page were trying to make their guitars sound like trumpets in the early days

Yours have the toggle down by the knobs like a 335?

I like that

That is one of the options I order with my custom made ones

I hate the switch up by the neck pickup

I love the neck on mine. It's not wizard thin maybe (what is? hahaa) but ...actually reminds me most of the "C" shaped medium-thin neck on my BC Rich Ironbird Pro. Very comfortable, slightly narrow & super-fast..

Yeah same here...it gets in the way of my tapping. :grumble: Yeah mine has it down by the volume & tone knobs...

Nice, enjoy it.

I purchased an L.P style Grote few years ago. There is a thread, in time, out there on it.
Overall it's good and I am happy with it. It plays well and sounds/feels good.
New knobs, machines, bridge and tail and a set of Invaders. The gold had to go.
The neck my have been a bit fresh. I live in a fairly dry climate and I had to adjust the truss rod slightly on a couple of times but it settled down nice.
Purple as well.

yeah not a fan of gold either
was telling my buddy
gold wasn't my first choice
if I had one it would have been chrome or black

love the Black on yours

heres a video of my buddy putting it through its paces

the new Joyo Zombie is up
the new Harley Benton Vertical 2x12 with the Carvin 8 Ohm VL12 speakers

I think many ES-335-style guitars have that issue with the neck pickup ring like that. IIRC, I remember watching a review on the Oasis ES-335 where they flipped the pickup ring around.

Trev you bstrd

It's your fault I have theis gorgeous new guitar

Dang it

Did to resistance readings on the pickups
weird

The volume pots are interactive
I need to wire them independent

Anyways the neck is 7.5 ohms
The bridge is 8.0 ohms

I got this so i could do some experiments on it

I think I'm gonna wire up a master tone and volume
With the second set of knobs for a piezo bridge

Alternatively
i have several set up this way.and while i do like the jangly piezo mixed in. I may opt for the active three band eq idea from a few threads back

What suggestions would yall like to see
