The gold plating is going around the edges. The grease is escaping from Grovers. I suspect that the jack socket is non-original. The harp tailpiece is almost as annoying as a Rickenbacker "R" type but it is part of the sound. The sound is fine. The neck profile is fine. Fret wear is negligible. The guitar does not appear to have led a hard life.

My example has the original, Guild-built HB-1 pickups. http://www.gad.net/Blog/2011/11/25/guild-full-sized-hb1-and-sd1-pickup-variations/ According to my old multimeter, the bridge pickup reads 8.0k and the neck pickup reads 8.25k. Luckily, I hardly ever use the bridge pickup.
If I ever revert to big, roundwound strings, I would like more guts from the bridge pickup. Considering how the later, SD-made, Guild pickups were constructed, I can see a DIY solution that would retain the original appearance.
