NGD Ibanez AG95 DBS

so Immediately I'm amazed at the quality and resonance of this guitar, have yet to plug it in but will later today and post my thoughts. I traded my Godin LG SP-90 plus a lovepedal white dragon fuzz for it and could not be happier. Another successful Kijiji trade.

Here is a picture

Re: NGD Ibanez AG95 DBS

yeah it looks amazing which is the first reason why I wanted to trade, I'm a sucker for a gorgeous guitar and nice inlays!

Re: NGD Ibanez AG95 DBS

My AK85 was very cool but this is even nicer looking! Hope she plays as good as she looks!

Re: NGD Ibanez AG95 DBS

she plays like a dream but does have some buzz on the low string and the B and E strings... I'm sure its an easy fix, I use thick picks so that probably is making it worse. Othar than that it is smooth as butter and the actions is perfect

EDIT- put black electrical tape on the intonation bridge screws.. problem solved fast! and you can't even see the tape because its relatively hidden!

Just tried it out. Very warm thick sound and sounds brilliant with analog delay and some fuzz. I really like it , only played it at bedroom levels so hopefully it does not feedback too much at band rehearsal on wednedsay .. This may be my new gigging guitar it sounds so smooth!

Re: NGD Ibanez AG95 DBS

Keep reading good things about these hollow bodies. What pups do they come with?

One way to make a hollow body more feedback resistant (without resorting to stuffing it with things) is to install a sound-post under the bridge, like a violin.

Re: NGD Ibanez AG95 DBS

huh well I will crank my amp tomorrow at home and stack some fuzzes and see how it fairs... I'm thinking its goanna only feedback when I let go of the strings. They come with medium output humbuckers and they sound pretty clear and articulate to me and still round not honky at all. Very chunky sound with overdrive.

Re: NGD Ibanez AG95 DBS

Man, that looks awesome! What kind of wood is in the top/pickguard? The pattern makes it look like curling smoke.

It will probably feed back for daaaays :) even my cort with it's wax block buckers feeds back when I crank the volume past 3 on my MiMX65

It makes a siiiiick effect when you learn to incorporate it into your music though :D

Figured Bubinga ! Its sounds so chunky with overdrive and thick! I love this guitar. I have heard a lot about artcores but never really owned one and man I'm glad I do !

Re: NGD Ibanez AG95 DBS

Ok this guitar is NEAR perfect.... I took it to rehearsal last night. Feedsback when stacking dirt and fuzzes :(

Do you guys know of some good ways to get rid of this ? I shoved 2 t-shirts in there this morning and it still is feedingback !

Re: NGD Ibanez AG95 DBS

It's kinda the shortcoming of the design, unfortunately. You might need to reserve it for studio work, and use a semi-hollow for stagework.

Or keep your speakers in front of you. ;)

Re: NGD Ibanez AG95 DBS

yeah you may be right. I'm goanna try some clear packing tape cut into the f holes and see how that goes... ugly but may do for gigging for now until I get me a Semi Hollow (I got my eyes on a Pelham blue 339 pro by Epiphone at my local store... 400 bucks!)

Packing tape may be bad for the finish...also, I've seen some great deals on Ibby semi hollows on eBay... I picked up an AR83 for $325 shipped with a great SKB case.

Damn I already put the tape on!!! the finish on this thing is beautiful so I don't want to ruin it or leave sticky residue on it.

I may just sell this Ibanez and use the money for a semi hollow. I had an Epiphone Dot that had no issues with feedback and fuzz

Be very gentle taking the tape off.

I think Nugent used foam in his axes...

Re: NGD Ibanez AG95 DBS

Jesus, that guitar is fiendishly beautiful. I may have to look into these...
