I came into a bit o cash lately, and decided to get myself a reward for some hard work. This is Ibanez's AM93AYS, the most recent version of their LP size semi hollow guitars, which they first came up with back in the early '80s.

I don't have a camera, so I had to rogue a photo from the web. Mine looks very much like this one.

I'm gonna play it at the Oktoberfest celebration in Longmont this Saturday night. :fingersx:

That's a beauty! If it plays anything like my '81 Artist, you've got a great axe there!

Congratulations and many bent strings to you.

Re: NGD...Ibanez AM93

wow! gorgeous top! is this model like the one carlos used to play?

I don't know if he ever played the AM models...you might be thinking of the Yamaha SBG.

Ibanez came out with the AM models in the early '80s, and some of the tops were just stunning. Beachbum on here has one of those, and it's a dream guitar for sure.

Re: NGD...Ibanez AM93

The neck on this guitar is nice and chunky. It has a volute, which is kind of rare, but I like it. The pickups are a treat. When I had my AS120, it had the same type, and I always dug the way they sounded. These sound very similar. Nice and warm with a good bite when I dig in. Stoked.
