It's pretty late, I might take some better shots tomorrow after I give it a setup, the action is kinda high right now.

I'm still not 100% sure if I'll keep it but this thing is like most Prestige Ibanez guitars I've had in my hands...fit and finish is perfect.

You know what, it came with new strings so I just gave it a quick adjustment but now that I look at it, the stock V6s have a regular nickel slug/screw combination. These are, in fact, aftermarket pickups, and the bobbin material is definitely the kind DiMarzio uses. I'm not gonna get rid of the new strings just to check out what they are, and I don't have an amplifier with me (I'm visiting my parents and will be back home in 2 weeks) to test out and get an idea. They very well could be PAF Pros, Evos, Evo 2s or Super 3s which are the ones that I usually see with black bolts. Unless I lucked out and they're Titans, which I also see with black screws all the time.

And obviously, it plays like a slice of butter melting on a big ol' pile of flapjacks, Bill Hader style.

Oh thats cool... the pickup cavities will take Seymour's.

Nice guitar how are the ergonomics compared to a Strat... The only RG i've played is an RG 220 and a cheaper 8 string. Never played on a fixed bridge on a RG (as far as the shops)

I need to fix it up... it wasn't a horrible guitar... It kept very good tune too.

If you're comfortable with a Strat, these will feel pretty similar. I've got a few RG2EXs and RG3EXs and an RG321 here. They're like 24 fret Strats to me.

Re: NGD - Ibanez Prestige RG1421F

Updated the pictures. Yeah, the bodyshape isn't that different from other superstrats like Soloists or Dinkys, but what really sets the RG apart IMO is the AANJ heel. My number one is still a SSS Strat and I very sporadically want to go up to the 21st fret. With this gal, I just want to live up there and bother my neighbor's dogs.

I've found that in general, people used to Strats don't mind going to a superstrat since it's sleeker and thinner in some parts, but the opposite isn't always true, some people who are used to shredsticks find regular Strats slightly clunky.
