I got this RGD7421 recently came with DiMarzio Crunch Lab and Liquifire I have the same set in my other ibby 7.

I love the feel of this guitar it just needs new strings and I am going to stain the rosewood board black to look more like ebony.

That is the only picture I have, I am currently in the hospital so I don't even know how it sounds plugged in yet.

Cool. Congrats on the new guitar. I see the photo was taken in the hospital. You know guitars help you heal faster. You did the right thing.

Is it just me, or does it seem like people put Dimarzio pickups in Ibanez guitars much more than any other guitars? That guitar is sick by the way. Looks like it was built to shred.

I am not sure but I love me some DiMarzio pups :P probably wrong place to say that XD

I've never tried them, or Seymour Duncan pups other than the Performer Scorcher that was already in this Squier Strat I bought, so I have no preference either way, I have just noticed the Ibanez with Dimarzio pickups thing recently. I hope you enjoy your new guitar though, is it as flat black as it looks? I really love that look, I want an all flat black guitar at some point.

My first Ibanez had a D'marzio in it and I put one in my second. LOL. But, went SD with my LTD. The Ibanez/DP100 combo is a thing of beauty. Getting my LTD back tomorrow, and hope it's even more so.

I was thinking the same thing ,if your looking for something different try the Blaze set ,they always pop up from RG7620's ,scored some for my Washburn and replaced the SD Blackouts I had in there ,I like active pickups and wanted to like them as they are what my favourite player Dino from Fear Factory uses, tried them in another guitar too and was underwhelmed (sorry Seymour)

Yes, it is. It feels so good lol

+1 To staining the Rosewood black, would look even more awesome! :fing2:

I love the DiMarzio Liquifire but didn't care for the Crunchlab. I found that the Liquifire in the neck pairs very well (quite the understatement in my opinion) with the SD Screamin Demon...just a suggestion in case you want to Dunanize that Ibby.

Hope you visit in the hospital is short and sweet. Enjoy the awesome new axe! :headbang:

I find the crunch lab is a pickup that you either love or hate, it has a very dark tone but I do like a dark tone so I guess it works well for what I like.

I also should be out of the hospital by the end of the may, I've been here for a loooooooong time but it should be over soon :D

Well most of the Ibanez artists use DiM, and they come stock in a bunch of Prestige and J-Custom instruments, so I guess people kinda expect a type of sound with this combination and go for it.

Nothing wrong with SDs in Ibanez, most of mine have them. It's all good :).

I can definitely understand the love/hate relationship side of it...I was only able to dial it in on one setting on my POD (don't use that anymore) but couldn't really get much out of it for my playing. But the Liquifire is one of my #1 neck pickups, love it!
