NGD incoming! Mod platform - Ideas?

OK, after spending some more time with it, I really like it! I'm surprised at how good it plays. It sounds good too!

I think I might get some Highwood saddles for it in the future, though. Never been in love with what these chapie brass saddles do to the tone. I guess I needed reminding. I might even swap the stock saddles back in, honestly.

Don't get me wrong. It sounds good plugged in, and acoustically, it's really loud. I just want to fine tune it to be a bit tighter and less thuddy. I could honestly live with it it as is, but the whole point of this project was swapping stuff out. So we'll see.

So I tried some mystery metal saddles yesterday that I also had. I say mystery metal because they're supposedly steel, but they're not magnetic. I understand not all steel is magnetic, but they don't really sound all that different from the brass ones, LOL.

Do they feel better than the brass ones? Sometimes the brass ones don't feel good on my palm.
They feel very similar to me. I don't have a problem with either. I just think I prefer bent steel saddles for t3h t0an, but I can't seem to find the Highwood saddles on Amazon anymore. Just the clones. I wonder if they're any good.

What was wrong with the stock ones?

Honestly, nothing major. But I already had the "upgrade" saddles, so I just dropped them in. The stock saddles weren't the tightest fit against each other, but other than that, they were fine.

For tone, I honestly prefer bent steel saddles. At least that was my experience with my last Strat project. Problem is, though, the regular ones kinda suck because they have no groove for the string to sit on, so it just dances around on the saddle, and the adjustment screw can poke your hand when palm-muting. Highwood saddles were amazing because they sounded like regular bent steel saddles, but they solved those two issues. But I don't have those anymore, and I'm having second thoughts about dropping $60 saddles in a $200 guitar.
