NGD incoming music man content

I just placed the order for the most expensive guitar I have ever purchased. A music man BFR axis in predator green. I have heard a lot of good about the axis models. My sales rep suggested I try it and if I don’t like it to return it and try a sting ray or valentine. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it works out. It’s supposed to be here Wednesday.

I'm sure it will be an incredible guitar. If you don't like it, it won't be because of build quality or tone, but just something like neck profile or vibe. Did you try one out?

I've loved every one I've played.

Those are great guitars. My Music Men are my favorites, and I can't wait to see pics and hear your impressions of yours.

Re: NGD incoming music man content

I have very little experience with music man guitars. I played an axis super sport about 10-11 years ago and a Luke a few weeks back. The neck felt great but a little thin. I like the asymmetrical necks on the wolf gangs I’ve played. The only thing I’m not 100% sure on it the nut width as I’m used to 1 11/16 and 1 3/4. But I’m hoping it’s easy to get used to. I also like the fact the on the BFR the body is mahogany and not basswood. I’ll post pics and do a review when it come in and I have a little time to mess with it.
This will also be my first guitar with stainless frets.

Hey congrats on the NGD.

I think Mincer is the go to guy around here for MM guitars.

He is one reason I grabbed my JP6.

Re: NGD incoming music man content

I tend to like "standard thin" necks with 1-11/16" nuts, but found the Axis to be really nice to play despite the shape being just a little different than I'm used to and the nut being slightly narrower.

I'm sure you'll love it. Can't wait to see pics of that finish!
