NGD Jaguar Thinline

These are discontinued and there was a sudden significant price drop, so I felt this would be a sleeper. (It was a sudden and brief burst of GAS, with a suitable remedy.) I've wanted a Jag in the arsenal for a while. This is my first Jag. I am well pleased so far. It's an excellent rhythm box with all kinds of tone options. So far out of it I've gotten Tele bridge tones, Strat rhythm pickup tones (yes, Hendrix), Gretsch-like bridge/neck tones, out of phase in between Strat tones, Rickenbacker chimy tones, chicken-pickin country tones, AC/DC-ish rock tones, punk/underground tones. It's not a lead player, but it handles everything else. And that's what I needed right now. (Hope I'm not violating anything by putting in this many pictures. I'm just pointing to photos on my own server somewhere else. Sorry if this is too long a post.)

Pretty good grain. I've seen 'em with 3 mis-matched pieces back there before.

This shows the actual color better. Probably the worst part is the lack of truss access.

Players view. Dot markers are in the wood rather than the binding. Don't know if you can tell, but the neck binding is white while the body binding is a kind of cream/parchment. A little odd, but not bad. Hopefully they will age closer together.

The headstock is almost identical to my 1966 Stratocaster.

It's bigger than a Strat box. I heard these are short scale, but the neck doesn't feel short scale to me. And the overall guitar is definitely wider and longer than a Strat.

Now I'm good. Thanks for viewing.

Man, thats a great looking guitar. I think its the binding that does it for me. I'm just really into double bound bodies atm - especially with my scratch builds

Re: NGD Jaguar Thinline

That looks awesome! Saw a black one in a local store yesterday. Looks really classy!

Wow, never seen one of those before. That's a damn fine looking guitar. Congrats and enjoy, sir. :beerchug:

Re: NGD Jaguar Thinline

nice. I played a squire jaquar today (surf green, no binding) and really dug it. thing was only like $299, I couldn't believe it. and that was after playing some type of suped-up les paul studio that was priced at like $1,800 that I just couldn't jive with.

Nice guitar big Jaguar fan. I wonder how the thin line aspect affects tone. Also not sure how you got tele bridge tones cos compared to my Tele my Jaguar sounds very different and due to the string length behind the bridge sounds very alive and out of control under some distortion.

Re: NGD Jaguar Thinline

That would have made the Non-Strat/Tele poll a race.

Hang on to it for next year....
