Got another Kramer Baretta Special to add to my Kramer collection. First thing I did was replace the tuners with black Gotohs. Next I replaced the saddles with Graph Tech String Savers, added Gotoh strap buttons, and finally clipped one leg off on the treble bleed. Plays and sounds great! First time using String Savers on these guitars and it definitely changed the tone for the better. I love these. 20220323_230225.jpg

Cool, you're looking to ebonize the fingerboard on this one?

So, by all accounts, there are excellent bang for buck.

I have the brother from another mother ;).

I love that Ibanez. Is that a Super 3 pickup?

PAF Pro I had in my parts bin, thought I'd try it out, which has been in there since. I do have the IBZ pup it would've come with originally, might give it a whirl at some point.

Bought the guitar as a husk to build up. They're nice, imo, and a still lot less $ than an original Baretta! Full feeling, oiled neck with medium jumbo type frets (kinda like Gibson), Edge trem.

I do like the pinky red they're offering on these new Kramers. I'd been looking for a bubblegum pink (Cherry Ice in the literature) version of the Ibanez but they're hard to find.

Darker fingerboard does look better, imo.

Congrats! I absolutely love the two I own (Blue sparkle & Purple). They are/were absolute players straight out of the box. That they cost what they cost is just a bonus :bigthumb:

A week ago I nearly pulled the Trigger on the black one myself (still might) but then something came up used on a local Craiglist-type site at a price & in a condition that I could'nt justifiably ignore...so I got that instead. Waiting for it (NGD) to arrive (been gassing for one of those for years ..fingers crossed heheh)

But yeah I still do see another Baretta Special in my near future. :D

Btw does clipping off the treble bleed cap really fix the volume pot sweep?

...'cause mine have volumes that work like on-off switches..

I don't really fiddle with the volume knob when I playing though...so it's no big deal. Just curious..

I'm leaning more towards the vintage white one. Black looks great. But I've got a bunch of black guitars and no white. If I do end up getting It, I'll replace the silver hardware with black..maybe darken/ebonize the fretboard as well..
