NGD: Last one for a little while

Well this is the last relic I had scheduled to build (or the parts waiting), and I am ready for a little break. That is three Teles, and four Strats in about five weeks.

Double bound Alder tele in Candy Apple Red. MJT paint, 9.5" radius quartersawn maple neck, SS frets, and Seymour Duncan Antiquity pickups.

Cool. What are you doing with all these guitars, man?

They are all mine... I just have not had as much time over the last year or so to finish them up. Some guys like to build pedals, I like to build guitars. :D

Re: NGD: Last one for a little while

I'm not a Tele guy, but this is one freaking-sweet axe! I love that finish and the wear on it. WIN! :headbang:

Re: NGD: Last one for a little while

Damn, plus the brass saddles. This guitar is a victory for all that is good and holy.

and Seymour Duncan Antiquity pickups.

What do you think of the Antiquity Tele pickups? I'm considering replacing my Nocasters, but I'm not too inspired one way or the other right now.

Also, my floor looks exactly like yours.

This guitar has the "60's twang set". I have not tried them before, and so far they work. I have not had a chance to really dig into them.

Your floors are dirty too?

Oh wow, I didn't realize roadworn parts looked like that.

You gave me a dangerous idea... ;)

Re: NGD: Last one for a little while

The bridge and control plate came from a RW. I cut down the sides of the bridge plate, and lapped the back dead flat (I do that to all ash tray bridges). The control knobs are actually old Ibanez knobs that have tarnished (and therefore look cool on a relic).

I don't remember where the saddles came from (I found them in my bridge box). I had ordered a set of Rutter saddles, but I think I am going to keep these on there and use the Rutters elsewhere.
