Bought this last summer at a flea market, new in the box (beginner kit w/amp, strap,etc). Found it in closet last week and decided to look at it closer. Chinese, needs pickups, frets were sticking out on both sides. Filed frets, oiled the board 3 times letting soak for 30 minutes between.

I think it is a cool looking guitar, going to find some p'ups soon, then do a rewire w/new pots, etc. Plays like a dream. Just doesn't sound the best right now.

I don't remember how much I paid, probably $50 to $60. Anybody else seen these? I wish they would make one a little higher quality like this.

That has some possibilites if it'll play all right.

Change that bridge pup to a Jazzmaster and maybe a lipstick tube for the neck, I kind of like it.

German carve too, never saw one before

^^ +1 for the suggested pu combo, or even a P90 in the bridge.

Most Peavey axes are aesthetically challenged but this one looks cool, nice colour too. Remins me of Mosrite with the German carve.

That's a really sweet looking guitar. The only thing I don't like is the pickguard; I think it would look better if they'd curved the tail end a bit, rather than just cutting it in a straight line from below the bridge to the tail.

I'd still rock it all day long though.

I've never seen one before. I thought I knew about all of Peavey's guitars.
Cool. And I'll second the comment, I wish there were a higher end version of this out there.

Just bought one for $40.00 Needs some neck work. But I actually like the stock PuPs. I have an extra strat Hot Rail that I've never opened that I might put in and see how it sounds.

HA! Great Advice!

Just got one off of Ebay. Gonna' dig thru my parts and Hot-Rod it a bit. Shield it, upgrade the wiring, pots, etc... pickups, hardware... Got some great stuff in my inventory. About the pickguard, the whole guitar is mostly curvilinear, except where the pickguard meets, goes around, and down alongside the humbucker and tailpiece. The two pointy corners and straight lines really stand out. In a way it keeps with the unusual, unique, and prototype designs of the 60s & 70s, and there's something to be said for contrasting design elements, but I do believe a more curvilinear look for the pickguard would be more suitable, especially due to the overall design of the guitar. I wonder if there's some customizing/re-working that can be done to the pickguard. Maybe at least round off the 2 pointy-point corners. Maybe down by the lower knob rounding that corner more aggressively but not too, and with balanced flow, and elegance, depending on what's underneath the PG over there. That's what I love a great deal about cheap cool guitars. One can get creative, have a lot of worry-free FUN, and possibly make a surprising show off specimen, conversation piece, or Favorite rig out of them.

That thing looks cool as heck.
I like the slant neck pickup, the offset body shape, the color and I dig the pickguard actually.

I certainly like the way it looks. Can't wait to hear how it sounds with some new electronics.

the headstock looks so weird, like a part of it was cut off ( I mean weird in a good way :D)
definitely has some mojo to it, cool colour too
