NGD, LTD Eclipse

Hi to my favorite forum people!

I got a new Guitar, the fretboard is a little rough and thus I got a decent discount on it so I took it since I really enjoyed it. The fretwork is great and it plays wonderful, too. for around 300€, its an amazing guitar.

It's a EC100-QM. Decent quilted veneer that looks nice, the body from behind, even though it seems to be a four piece, just looks absolutely stunning. It looks lighter in pictures than it actually is, the color is called cherry burst or faded cherry burst I think. The whole guitar is about the color of the headstock in the second picture, very nice I think.

It comes with 9's and I usually always play 10's but it really plays nice this way, although I will probably replace the top 46 with a 50 or 52, because drop D. Also on the list is: straplocks and new pickups, maybe get the neck a bit more satin with some fine sandpaper. Most likely going to take the DiMa Dominion out of my jackson, because its going to be my main guy. The "ESP Designed" humbuckers are decent at best, even though I mostly play with low distortion for metal, they sound pretty mushy.

Overall I'm really happy and in love though!

Now what you all came for, some naughty pictures of her:

For some reason I feel like they tried to copy the chapman ml with these.

maybe. If I only had the money I'd buy a ghost fret, but that's way out of my range, sadly. You are right that they are pretty similiar but theres been ESP Eclipse guitars for way longer than there has been chapman ml2's, and price wise, chapmans are about 300 bucks more expensive (haven't tried them yet)

Re: NGD, LTD Eclipse

Bargain.

There is no point in anybody pretending that those stock pickups are anything other than a cost cutting feature. Machineheads and control electronics will be equally suspect.

In standard tuning, I find that those 25.5" scale ESP/LTD EC models go best with .0095-.044 gauge strings. For dropped tunings, 10s or 11s make sense.

Between these I'd go for an ec-256.

I just stuck my F-Spaced DiMarzio in there. The aligment of the poles is perfect.... I'm quite surprised. but extremely happy!

Sweet axe! Very clean. I dig it.

DOminion? Hadn't heard of that one. Just looked it up. I dig the EQ. Like a low output chill Distortion. Cool….

+1

If the machineheads hold tune, they're probably OK to keep for a while. Since you're already doing pickup(s), the first two things I'd suspect (and replace) are the pickup switch and pots.

the pots actually are smoother than anything I had to this point, there's a lot of cheap guitars where it feels like you are going from volume 0 to 10 with a quarter turn of the pot and the rest of the travel, nothing really happens.
Those pots say "made in korea" and they are really decent, so is the switch. I suspect the nut could be changed as well, it looks like just molded to me. tuners are good so far. thanks for the advice! :)

I wasn't referring to how the pots turn and how the switch works now. I was referring to their durability and probable failure far before better quality components would.
