I got myself a beauty for the right price, and no we are not talking the cheap hookers people!

Ibanez RG570 2001 model! in Grey Nickle (quite the name)

I got it set up horribly, guy was to lazy to set up so he threw in some credit cards and a piece of wood...

anyway 2hrs later I had her set up, ready to go! this is my 4th ibanez and she is the best one!

specs:
Body: Basswood
Fretboard: Rosewood
Neck: 3-Piece Maple/Bubinga
Pups: ibanez stock.
24 fret
5 way
I think it is a 25.5" scale
standard edge tremolo (NOT Lo Pro)

one little chip in the paint and the rest is mint, I paid $275 (CAD) which is $237 for US people.

Re: NGD! my ibanez collection grows!

See now, that'll work.

Nicely done.

Re: NGD! my ibanez collection grows!

with some playing time on it, it sounds terrific, probably switching pickups anyway, bur fact of the matter is, she is amazing, and needs new strings like soon XD and a set up by a actual tech lol since I just did what I liked and I am pleased for now but can only imagine how it will sound with a pro set up.

I like the HSH, my toggle is making a noise when I switch pups. (whats up, what do I do about that?)

condition is good, physically but when you get down to it, the price was right XD it needed work the guy thought it was a cheap childs guitar... boy was he wrong....

Re: NGD! my ibanez collection grows!

Nice! What a steal! Do the 570's all come with a quarter sawn neck?

Re: NGD! my ibanez collection grows!

Score!

That neck is known as a "super wizard" due to the construction. The original wizard necks were a tad thinner (and narrower), but prone to warping or cracking. The multi piece constructed "super wizard" is I believe 1-2mm thicker and wider (at the 12th).

Re: NGD! my ibanez collection grows!

What a steal for 237 bucks! That edge tremolo is even better than the original FR according to some.

Re: NGD! my ibanez collection grows!

Cool. 570s are kinda underrated for some reason - everyone's nuts about 550s.

One trick you can do with the pups before deciding to ditch them completely is swap the magnets around. In stock form, the neck is ceramic and bridge A5, so just switch them.

I don't know how to do that... Lol

Re: NGD! my ibanez collection grows!

I like the looks of that! Nice color combination. Heck that would probably be a good deal even if it were a 100 more. Congratulations!

Re: NGD! my ibanez collection grows!

Awesome dude, Happy NGD!!
This makes me feel nostalgic. I used to have a 570 in the same exact color about 10 years ago. Same year too haha, 2001 model.
Like a fool I sold it in 2006 to get the new Prestige 1570 in Mirage Blue color. I thought it would be the same thing but NO! The bridge has never felt as nice as the one on the good ol' 570. IMO the EDGE is way nicer than the EDGE PRO on the prestige models.

I second the magnet swap. The V7 sounds waaay better with the A5 magnet.

Re: NGD! my ibanez collection grows!

I don't know how to magnet swap and don't really want to risk it... might just get some bare knuckles or Seymour's and call it :D

I was a kid when that line first came out near the end of the Shred Era, and old coots thought they were child's toys back then when they were all the rage and highly respected in rock circles, so no surprise to hear this now. You should have seen the Grunge Era fallout, when you could barely even GIVE away Ibanez shredders! It was a dark time. But the Grunge trendsters themselves became totally irrelevant in 5-6 years. :D
