Had a Tele neck pup in it and much as I wanted it to work I could never get them to play well together. I've been screwing around with some custom pickguards lately and decided it was time to do one for me.

I am changing over the wiring to Esquire style with a twist. It'll have the blower/tone bypass position, regular bridge tone position and an off position. The off position may seem strange but a hot P-90 makes a metric **** ton of noise in a bar so now I can just flip the switch and shut her up.

If anyone wants a Tele guard cut check the sound off room

So happy I decided to re-model this guitar.

Did a proper setup on it and played it for about 4 hours last night. Man I love Jr's, sometimes I forget how much.

I went with the full SD Esquire wiring instead of making the tone cut an off position. I don't know why but it sounds different than the tone rolled off but it does? I may or may not keep it but I got a great Masters of Reality/Chris Goss tone out of it. Kind of psyched

I am not using anything ultra-rare, irreplaceable or ridiculously valuable. You know I had this idea years ago and never followed thru with it. At the time a copy of KISS Alive might have been worth a dollar. My collection was at one time 3000+ pieces and it became a worthless albatross so I'm not going to freak out because someone might want some of them.

I'm making something that I think is cool and a little different with them and I like it. To buy blanks at $15-20 a sheet when this isn't costing me anywheres near that, I don't know? I'm good with it.

Cool guard! I personally wouldn't use vinyl but I think it looks really cool! Also, I use picks made from vinyl records–very nice tone!
