I recently acquired this from a pawnshop when I was up in PA. It's an NSON (I think, I've never heard of them before and the font is kinda funny). It's all maple with a body that is maybe 1/4" thinner than it should be, but believe it or not it's actually pretty balanced tonally. It doesn't have the best neck in the world, but it's on par with most higher end Epiphones. The tuners were replaced with Klusons and the bridge is Wilkinson.

The original owner kept it mostly stock and as such it comes with crappy ceramic pickups. I haven't gotten the chance to perform the operation, but I think I'm gonna put an A4 '59/C in the neck and an A8 '59/C in the bridge.

That's a nice guitar with the maple neck. I think you should get this one next.;)

Yes and yes.

"Steel adjustable neck Japan" on neckplate and good heavy tuners with Gotoh branding or a big fat star symbol? If so it's a rebadged 70s Ibanez/Greco model and the pickups aint original (should be 2 super 70s, which are pretty beefy, or a mismatched set of 1 open coil Super 70 and 1 covered humbucker)

Bad crappy trapeze tuners and painted sides to hide plywood? Its a rebadged Hondo and the pups are original

And if its got wacky electronics effects cards stuffed in the back, it's a rebadged Electra
