NGD- Peavey Nitro active 1

Picking up this guitar tomorrow. It'll be my next project. Its only coming with the Body, neck, neck plate and cavity plates. One question is the tremolo. I guess they came with Kahler's, but I don't know which one to get. Anyone know what would work? What measurement would I take off the guitar to order one that'll work? I'm not too familiar with whammy's. The only guitar I own that has one is my Roadstar II, and that thing has been blocked for 20 years.

First thing on the agenda with this guitar will be a sand & repaint. I'm thinking maybe a VH 2 style paint job.



Oh, and it'll be a Peavey Nitro "Passive" 1 when it's finished. Thinking either a JB or a SD.

I think that is the Kahler Spyder routing...could be wrong...not 100% sure...maybe this site will be helpful?

I think that is the Kahler Spyder routing...could be wrong...not 100% sure...maybe this site will be helpful?

Yeah, I suppose. I was thinking his black/yellow guitar though. Not as many out there as his red/white. I may go with something different.

That routing looks like it fits a Kahler Killer(2700).

Stud insert holes drilled in line with the E string saddles indicates 2700 Killer model.

Just picked it up 10 minutes ago. He does have the Tremolo. You guys are right on the 2700. He said I can have it for $125.

Yup, I was wrong, not the Spyder. I have a spare 2500 that has the same spacing I can sell you dirt cheap but it won't look as good due to that routing.

$125, go for it. I had a Nitro with the 2500 and got a Killer to swap out. Unfortunately, the Killer sat too high since it was top mounted.

Yes, it appears to be the 'faded' series version.

Now I have to search for a locking nut. Would there be a matching Kahler nut? Again, noob to dem whammy's.

Yes, there is a matching Kahler nut. I think wammiworld may have it, but I don't know if it is the same as the original that came on Killer equipped Peaveys. I'll check my Vandenberg when I get home.
