i was thinking about putting a warmoth blue pearl pickgurd until i was shipping costs but now idk the raisin i was gonna go warmoth is i wanted to drill the control holes layout my self that way i can use a les paul style toggle switch. (pick of supposed pickgaurd)

so is there anywhere i can get a strat style pick gaurd without any control holes cheaper?
also i am thinking Jazz/JB and putting theses ''covers'' onthem BUT will it mess with the sound?

i was gonna wire it 2v no tone so maybe it would even it out if it would edit the pup tone.

Re: NGD plus questions

You can use one of your tone holes for the toggle switch.

Re: NGD plus questions

If you order from Warmoth you can get it without the 5 way switch route.

Re: NGD plus questions

They also make three way blade switches.

Re: NGD plus questions

Are the covers plastic? If so, they won't affect the pickups.

That blue whatever pickguard with that sparkly finish, on the other hand... yikes.

Re: NGD plus questions

I found some from Allparts. Didn't have any control routes or pickup routes. Also found a square pickguard blank in the color you wanted. You would have to do the routing yourself on both of these.

Admittedly, it wouldn't be my choice, but otoh, sometimes ya just gotta love excess. :bigthumb:

ps: I think you've got to swap the hardware out to chrome. And are you sure you want to stay with the black/white pickup combo?

Re: NGD plus questions

TNT guitars (out of Oregon) on ebay has lots of pickguard choices where holes can be customized and bare (with pickups holes already routed) pickguards can be ordered. They do put the humbucker closer to the bridge then usual, but so does Jeff Loomis, on his signature Schecters. http://stores.ebay.com/tntguitars/H...438133016&_sid=34516776&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322
Here is one of their pickguards I was playing with for a little while on a Fender Strat of mine.

I am just knocked out with the color. I am not a fan of the blue pickguard, though. I think it is too busy with the sparkles.

probably gonna go with one in black tho not because the cringe of over excess blue (boy i love me some blue) but the example given by Zheddar dont come in any kind of blue :(

Re: NGD plus questions

ok got the guitar today and im man enough to admit when im wrong because geez adding a blue pearl pickgaurd would be WAAAY to much blue. that being said gonna go with black although im still arguing with myself whether to go Duncan Distortion or JB im not using a tone pot so im leaning sh4 also it comes with the Jazz in a set so makes things cheaper.....

You'll need a trembucker f-Spaced JB (the TB-4). It's rarely available with the Jazz as a set, most examples i've found are used sets where the two were bought individually by the previous owner.

Re: NGD plus questions

I would measure the string spacing both at the bridge, and again at the neck. Sometimes you only need the trem spacing for the bridge. In that case there are a lot of ebay sellers selling the jb/jazz set in that configuration for the same price as the horrid design humbucker set.
