NGD PRS SE Custom 24

Just got my beautiful new SE Custom 24 a few hours ago and holy s$$t wow. For being Korean made I love it. It plays better than all of my other guitars, I love the pickups, and right as I set it down to write this I discovered the tone pot was a coil tap. Can't wait to see how that preforms. I'm not trying to cause any fighting here but... A PRS player is born. I've only played this and an SE One and the One blew me away when I played it like a year ago. This all being said, I do understand the "heel from hell." Thankfully that heel doesn't stop me with the way I play... Can't reach the highest frets on the low E but... Never used them anyway xD
I need to call GC about the bag though. The SE gigbag wasn't included yet I bought it new. Did PRS stop including them?
...now to finish paying my mother back for the loan she gave me for this xD

If anybody wants more photos just ask and I'll post!

Re: NGD PRS SE Custom 24

I know what you mean the SEs are good players but tone wise they could be a bit better imo.

Upgrading to American pickups would help.

Heel? Schmeel. Les Paul players manage to reach over to the highest frets. Work at it. :p

Re: NGD PRS SE Custom 24

With a good set of pickups some of the PRS SE guitars can sound awesome.

I usually am a LP player lol
And yeah, I'm probably going to put in a buddha custom to try. Thinking of having him make me an original style El Diablo bridge. Neck pickup? No clue rn

Re: NGD PRS SE Custom 24

PRS SEs are probably the best buy for the money right now. Great guitars. I have a stock SE Tremonti that I use for C# tuning and it is fantastic.

Re: NGD PRS SE Custom 24

I have the singlecut SE Soapbar and an SE One. The former has Lindy Fralin overwound P90s. The latter has sported a whole bunch of different pickups over the years.

Re: NGD PRS SE Custom 24

Can anyone reccomend me a passive neck pickup that sounds like an EMG 89? I just got done playing a friend's Schecter Hellraiser c-1 and I loved the 89's lead tone. The prs & the schecter are very close in construction and composition so something like the 89 should give me the right results? What I like most about the 89 is the clarity of single notes, especially in the higher notes at massive gain levels. Thanks

Re: NGD PRS SE Custom 24

Nice score. I just noticed this thread. You got a MIK PRS, and I got MIK Cort. I wonder if they're cousins. :D

Enjoy. (As you told me.) ;)

Re: NGD PRS SE Custom 24

Could you turn it around and show us the backside?
Maybe pull the control cover off

Slowly

Re: NGD PRS SE Custom 24

I love checking the guts of guitars, I did that with my Devlin. I don't do it often with my strat styles because of the work involved but it's cool. That's a very nice guitar you have there. Is that a denim blue or more of a purple color? I ask because cameras aren't always accurate in the portrayal of color and it's got a purpley undertone to it. Care to let me borrow it on a semi-permanent basis? I say semi because you could have it back when you pry it from my cold dead fingers. ;)

It's officially called "Whale Blue" and it's a really dark blue, with a little hint of purple in the right light.

That's a stock photo of it. I really think I'm going to put black pickups and rings on it. The zebra with cream rings just doesn't look right imo. I'm probably just gonna gut it and do a push push killswitch on the tone and move the coil tap to the volume. An American 3 way switch should fit right? And to top it off, locking tuners. All of that is crazy talk right now because one I finish paying this guitar off, I'm saving for a Carvin (maybe with a used SGJ14 detour).

Re: NGD PRS SE Custom 24

Man, you've got G.A.S. so bad I can smell it through my computer. Thanks for the info on the color, it's still a very nice guitar. send the guitar to tigereyelaser Ignore that, no subliminal messages here!!! Hehehe...

Re: NGD PRS SE Custom 24

Lol I'm trying to get myself towards more pro gear. I do guitar repair work and mods for people and the other day I was working on a nice Parker P44 and I realized I need some better stuff lol
And tiger, go buy your own xD the PRS I got is still on sale for $450 at GC. $500 if you want black cherry. XD
Sorry for smelling up the forum page with my GAS though xD
