NGD! PRS Soapbar SE

Re: NGD! PRS Soapbar SE

alex1fly -- yes, you definitely, and pretty much directly caused me to have this guitar in my hands --- props man! It was a good move!

I played it live tonight at my church gig --- found out a few things in the line of fire

The tone pot malfunctions and shorts out, so if I have it rolled back to 4 or 5, it will "short out" and sound like it's on 10, very bright and trebly --- I guess I need to get in there and redo some of the solder joints.

The P90s sound a lot more bright and trebly when they're turned up to gig volume than when they're down at apartment level --- they're very scooped sounding, lots of lows and lots of highs, I had a difficult time keeping it full sounding without mudding up. I need to turn the knobs on my amp, I was using a setting that I use with my 335.

Guitar plays great, feels great to play!

Also of note, this guitar really sounds like a Telecaster on the bridge pickup!

You'd just have to hear it! I will be making another video soon, now that I know the guitar better. I had a pretty good amount of Compression on it last night, through a clean amp, and it really gets country tone DOWN!

I am pretty amazed at how versatile a guitar with 2 P90s is!

Sold!

To an old white guy with a neck tie.

I actually miss this one a little bit. It was a *****in guitar. Sold for $275.

$275 is roughly equivalent to what I paid for mine before I fed it Fralins and American electronics. I still prefer my SE Soapbar to either of my Gibsons.

Re: NGD! PRS Soapbar SE

P-90s are the ultimate Pickup !!! people around here always put down the SE's but every one I have heard or played has been phenomenal and I don't throw that word around lightly :28:

Happy NGD!!

Damn,gone already?

I had it five years; pretty good run!

FAR & AWAY the best value I've ever had in a guitar - plays as good or better than my Americans, I paid $250 for it and everything on it was sturdy and functional and well built.

Luckily, if I ever get the jones for another one, I can have confidence that whatever I find will be as good as this one, because this product line is super consistent.

2 guitars sold in the last week, and I haven't been sad about either yet, so far so good on operation: get real.

Yes, P90s are awesome. The last word in "do-it-all."
