NGD: say hollow to my little friend

Wattage

High Voltologist
Ok so semi-hollow

1981 made by Daion apparently, not Matsumoku factory

All original, near mint and it’s a beast

Washburn HB35

My, well that's pretty! Is it all stock?

Re: NGD: say hollow to my little friend

Makes me miss my 339. I loved cranking the **** out of my tiny Laney through it.

Congratulations!

Yeah all stock. It’s got the factory Washburn Power Sustain pickups which are DiMarzio Super 2’s or Gotoh copies, not sure who made them for Washburn (DiM or Gotoh), there seems to be some confusion about that. Factory p/p pots split the coils.

I am loving my recent semi-hollow acquisition. I am sure that one sounds great!

And we are STILL waiting for a recording of that Eastman!

Re: NGD: say hollow to my little friend

When I was 13, I had a Washburn catalogue. Loved their semi hollows, and the double cut 2 hb model they had then (I think there was an all-white Nancy Wilson version). I've always kept my eyes open for one of those solid body double cutaways...they had sort of smallish cutaways. Only played one once when I was young, then Washburn went the superstrat direction in the 80s.

Think that was the Hawk model

So where exactly this guitar was actually made is an unknown. It has an ‘81 serial number but the pups which appear original in every way have an ‘85 date code. My best guess it started out in one factory which closed down and was finished in a second factory a few years later.

I am absolutely in love with this guitar regardless.

Re: NGD: say hollow to my little friend
