NGD: Seven String Content

I've been GASsing for a seven string since I was 17. Now I'm almost 21 and the desire hasn't gone away. So as an early Christmas present, I took the $600 that I was saving for my ex-girlfriend's present, and spent it on myself.

I got a Matt Heafy Les Paul on Reverb. Factory second with a small crack in the finish. Other than that, it's a pretty much brand new guitar.

Sorry bro, I know that feeling...on the brightside, your new gal won't do that and you can pick her up whenever you want

It's all good. I figured replacing the hole in my heart with a material possession was a healthy way of coping (just kidding). I planned on getting her some kind of Christmas gift. When I dumped her I figured I'd just hold onto the money for a bit, but I found this and felt it was too good a deal to pass up. $600 even with free shipping. I'm waiting for the guitar to get shipped, but I should have it before Thanksgiving.

In all seriousness, I'm okay. I kind of had a feeling that something wasn't right and my friend Alec found out about it because he had class with the other guy and the guy was showing Alec the picture of the girl he had been hooking up with, a.k.a. my ex. One fight later and I'm a single guy with a shiny new seven stringer (and a Les Paul to boot).

Glad you are okay man, life does go on and of-course there other girls out there–but it doesn't make what your going through any easier. Hopefully you'll get that new LP in soon and can make the healing time much easier.

Well we broke up a few weeks ago. I went back home this past weekend to help my grandmother move some stuff and so I talked to my dad about it and he helped me out a bit. It doesn't suck any less, but I'm able to handle it a bit better now.

The LP is just the icing on the cake.

Breaking up with a 15 year long relationship made me buy my 2011 Gibson Les Paul Traditional! Nothing like a break up to make a man's dreams come true.

Haha the alternative title for that song is "I Know You're ****ing Someone Else". It's off their first album, Slow Deep and Hard, and their mock live album, The Origin Of Feces. That stuff is pretty different from all other TON albums, because a lot of the material is left over from Peter Steele's Carnivore days. It's closer to hardcore/thrash with bits of gloom and doom here and there. The first "real" Type O Negative album (when the band really obtained their sound) is Bloody Kisses.

So my new guitfiddle just came in. The crack in the neck finish was so microscopic that I missed it the first look. Plus the ebony is pure black with no streaks which I was not expecting. Unfortunately, I don't get to play it too much today because I'm going to class and tomorrow I have a speech so I will be working on that for most of the night.

Damn my luck.
