NGD so shiny and pointy.

With everything that went on with my gibsons. I thought I needed to step back a few steps and try something different. So far so good it plays good and sounds good. Fit and finish are spot on. Just needs a small set up and it should be good to go.
The neck is going to take some getting used to. But its not as bad as I thought it would be.
Most people know the specs.

Brent Hinds? Love it. I’d love one of those and a matching Thunderhorse. Too bad the explorer doesn’t have the inlays.

Re: NGD so shiny and pointy.

Yeah I really like how even though it's a sig model. It doesn't stand out as one. I almost bought a thunderhorse to match it. But it sold fast at $350 with a hardshell case.

Yes!

Bad@ssery in V form. Some .11 NYXL's and your primetone in any drop tuning and it'll sound like a beast.

Re: NGD so shiny and pointy.

Enjoy it well and yeah you need/want a Thunderhorse Explorer to go with that. :headbang:

Re: NGD so shiny and pointy.

The neck is taking some getting used to. It almost feels like holding a baseball bat. I am not sure how long the kill pot will hold out but that's an easy enough change.

Oh man. I want one of those so, so bad. Damn near impossible to find around these parts.

I have one EPI with a fat 59 neck and that guitar is the most responsive, lively guitar I have. Nice ax, grats!

That's how I was with mine at first being used to a 60's neck, I think there's a tone component that makes it worth it though. I've been toying with the idea of a concentric pot for tone on both pickups as I almost don't use the kill pot, too used to volume knob kills.

Re: NGD so shiny and pointy.

That's what I usually do. The kill pot works well but seems kind of flimsy. So I can see it going out pretty fast. I will probably eventually rewire it to just 2 volumes. And leave the tone pot out.

Re: NGD so shiny and pointy.

Very awesome!

Is the neck overly big or small?

Big!

Awesome axe! If they didnt have the big neck, Id be GASSING for one! I really like how they didnt make it overtly "signature" by putting the logo on the back. How you like the pups?

Kind of ironic... After all the EPI bashing Ive seen/read over the years, its ironic how you had to buy an Epi to get a good axe...
